Super High Me -- For years I'd stare at the cover of this movie and roll my eyes, thinking it was one of those dippy spoof flicks like Superhero Movie or Dance Movie or whatever. When I found out what it really was -- a documentary riff on Super Size Me in which comic Doug Benson goes 30 days without smoking pot and then smokes pot constantly for 30 days straight and compares the effects -- I was a lot more interested. As it turned out, I actually ended up liking this a little better than Super Size Me... I think most people know that eating McDonald's every day for a month isn't going to be great for you, but even the far-from-pot-novice filmmakers weren't sure what the effects of this journey would be on Benson's physical and mental state.
I don't want to spoil too much about the movie, but I will say this: being stoned for 30 days had less of an effect on Doug Benson than eating McDonald's for 30 days had on Morgan Spurlock.
Benson's journey is juxtaposed with California's battle for the right to legal medical marijuana -- passed into law by a majority vote within the state -- against the federal government (a fight I've always been fascinated with... the feds are the final say. You can't enact a law in your state that flies in the face of federal policy and expect no response), and also against the insane growth of "farmacies" within a year of the legalization of marijuana for medical use.
I also enjoyed this

Here's a non-comics confession: that sounds fun. That stuff became very not-fun once I grew up. You must be doing it wrong.

Has anyone tried Century 1910? I'm a fan of the property and i thought this was a great example of it
I liked 1910, but thought it was the weakest of all other volumes. I also like Black Dossier. I got super high and reread the ending once. Blew my mind. Did you guys see the Captain Marvel in there?

I tried League of Extraordinary Gentlemen but I just don't dig Kevin O'Neil's art. Not saying he sucks but just not into his art. I liked the movie very much though. I didn't exactly hate the movie. I don't understand why everyone is so hellfire against. It's two completely different properties. The movie is nowhere as good as the book, but it has it's good points. I look at it like a What if the "League" was an action movie.

Waid/ Ringo FF Vol 2 Shazam the Greatest Stories ever told. Totally shocked that Jack Kirby did Issue no.1 of Captain Marvel Adventures. This was either before he locked down his style or he intentionally altered his style for this book. It doesn't look like anything else I've seen from him.

Excalibur on Blu-ray !!!!!!!!!!!! It's crazy to see how many themes, in comics and other sci-fi pop culture, that we all know and love; started here in Arthurian legend. And it's great to a genre movie done so well, and without CGI

Zod is OK I guess. I want to see something really out there like Brainiac, or a couple of smaller villains like Parasite and Metallo. I don't have anything against Zod it's just that I've seen that before.
Where did Zod appear first? Movie or Comic?

I recently had a hiccup with my con sketchbook. One artist had it all day and I couldn't get any other sketches because of that. Anyway I want to change to a portfolio format. Any recommendations on size or type?

Rucka is a great espionage writer and I love when Frank goes international. Plenty of supervillains not based in New York or USA. Frank vs Hydra or AIM could be cool.
If you guys like that idea then you should check out "Eurohit" a crossover whithin The Punisher books. Completely disagree that Frank is one note. Any ideas what Bullseye whispered to Frank?
