OK... here's the score from C2E2 for me. (I already posted the pages in the O/A thread) but here goes.
First... I scored 2 sketchbooks from one of my artistic influences...Bart Sears.
Second... I bought a whole bunch of Copic Gray tone markers (cool & warm) and I also bought a set of the refillable Multi-liners & a carrying case for all of this artistic hardware.
Third... I scored the rarest, most unique books at the entire show. These books will hold a special place of reverence for me (cause I know that they're both one of a kind volumes). These are my Bean-bound Nexus books. I absolutely love them...
Fourth... Yeah, I got my first ink by Brian Stringer. We're adding color to it next year.
Sorry for the crappy computer photo...

Lastly... because I'm a DCBS local customer, I don't typically buy many books at the shows. Shopping for books at a convention just seems foolish most of the time. Therefore, my con experiences have turned more toward Original art. I think that next year, I may start a themed sketchbook like Chris Campbell and Bean did. Sounds like lotsa fun.
From
Bart Sears. He didn't bring very many pieces to the show, but he did have a few X-O Manowar pages stuffed in his portfolio. He said there wasn't very much left of the original run but I scored a nice page with an Aric headshot and some beautiful line work.
Next up is a piece that I discovered Sunday morning in
Geoff Darrow's portfolio. I couldn't pass this up for the price.
I've always wanted a page from
Humberto Ramos' Crimson. I scored this one from Anthony's Comic Art. He's got several reasonably priced pages from the series.
Lastly, this page is one of my "grail pages". I'm a big fan of Hawkman; and the run by Geoff Johns and
Rags Morales is one of my all-time favorite runs in comics. Add the inks of
Michael Bair and you've got one of my favorite penciller/inker teams. I was determined to get a page from this run someday, and am glad I got one that still has hand lettering and sound effects.
Now that I've gotten my Morales and Ramos pages, I'm going into full Richard Corben mode for my next acquisition. Wish me luck.
