Gave up my job on a newspaper to do it for a year. Hardest work I've ever done. Shit. Piss. Puke. Tantrums. Man. Tough, tough job. No breaks. No days spent coasting. Lot of highs. Lot of lows. Thing I found hardest was that as a man it's hard to get up any kind of support network - I got to know a few other mothers through playgroups, the playground etc, but didn't really get invited into their world if you know what I mean. You definitely stand out from the crowd as a man. On the plus side I had some amazing times with my boy and we developed a good bond. He also knew the names of most of Marvel and DC's A listers and a good number of the B listers before he was two.

I thought it was a well written review. Negative for sure. But well written. I can understand that the book resonated very strongly with a lot of you chaps, but this wasn't a case of someone being an idiot for the sake of it.The reviewer made it perfectly clear why he didn't like it and he'd clearly thought very deeply about the book before diving in. Calling him a twat or just being nasty because you don't agree with his point of view is a little hypocritical in my eyes, because he actually took the time in his review to explain why he had problems with the book. Having read Daytripper, I disagree with much of what he says, but he certainly makes some valid points about the book, as others in this thread have noted.

The classic stuff is the best - go for the Dredd Case Files. Judge Cal The Judge Child Judge Death Those are some good stories and they all feature great art.

Hi. This really belongs in the episode thread, but I am fearful of going into that in case I run into spoilers. Basically I slammed the stop button on the latest podcast when Vince announced he was going to spoil on Red Hulk. Can someone give me a time stamp on when I should fast forward to so that I avoid the spoilers.

Fair enough, I'm being totally naive, but I'll never pay $1.99 for a digital comic that I can pick up a physical copy of for a fraction of the price in a bargain bin or on ebay. I want to make the switch to digital, but these prices seem prohibitively high to me.
Is anyone here paying $1.99 for these comics?

How many issues are in a trade? The trade is $10.19 on amazon
$1.99 is not a lot for a digital comic. If you think they would put issues up for 10 cents an issue, then I really don't know what to say.
OK, like I say, I don't know a lot about digital comics and what people are willing to pay. Maybe 10c is pie in the sky. I personally wouldn't pay too much more though. And $1.99? Really? I don't know about Amazon, but you can find the TPBs for a lot less on ebay.

Forums / The Bullpen / Nice cheap way to buy original(ish) art from 100 Bullets

Grant Golesh, the colorist of 100 Bullets has lots of color guides from 100 Bullets for sale at $15 a pop. To quote the dealer selling them: While these are technically termed "color guides" for lack of better terminology, they are fully painted pieces, and not simply sections of color painted on acetate like many traditional guides. All of the 100 Bullets guides are on pieces of 8 1/2 X 11 bristol watercolor boards. He's not wrong. I bought one, and it's beautiful. At $15 a pop these are a bargain. I don't know much about online comics. But I saw an ad saying that I could now buy a digital version of Planetary. Downloaded this Comixology thing and found that they want me to pay $1.99 for EACH issue!
No fucking chance. I'd pay 10c an issue or $1.99 for the whole series. But $1.99 for a single issue digital comic? Is anyone going to pay that? I can go on ebay and buy the trades for a fraction of the price it will cost me to buy the digital version.
I don't get this pricing. Are people paying it?
