I read this a few months ago. It's not the most elegantly written piece of literature I ever read and there were times when the book felt like it was really pandering to me with all of the references. I did end up enjoying it quite a bit though.

So this LEGO piracy stuff is getting pretty jacked. My son giddily opened up the Tie Fighter set from one of his friends yesterday (a belated birthday gift). We opened the box, dumped out the bags and...not. a. good. look. None of the mini-figs were there, and a bunch of the special pieces were missing. In their place? Random brick-a-brack Legos. Then I look further and you can actually see where someone opened the plastic bags and then HOT GLUED THEM SHUT again. Then I checked the cardboard and, sure enough, you can see hot glue buttons on the box too as the person re-sealed it. That's fucked up! So somebody bought the set, opened it up, took out all the goodies, resealed it, and returned it??

I'm not a football guy will that matter?
Not even a little. There's absolutely a lot of football in it, but that's just setting. It's all about the characters.

Apart from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Lost is the only tv show I have fallen in love with. I cared for the characters and was sad when it ended.
Also people like the interviewer in Dan's link need to pay more attention.
My wife and I are going to buy the entire series and rewatch it when we take a vacation.
Oh man, you gotta watch Friday Night Lights then. My girlfriend and I just started watching Lost together. This is my second time through, her first. i'm almost more excited to see her reactions.

I've been out of town for a wedding since Thursday so I still haven't watched the 3 part finale. I almost don't want to, knowing that it will be the last "real" Community I ever get to see.
Dan Harmon is Community. Community is Dan Harmon.
This really really fucking sucks.

They haven't but I guess I'm to blame for that as I've never thought to record it and it doesn't seem to be in a heavy rotation where it's marketed to the kids while they're watching the other shows. I should mention that they ADORE Pokemon, and it's 100% because of the cartoons. I used to try to get them into the card game and the Nintendo games and they had ZERO interest (so much so that when I brought them to the NYC Nintendo store at Rock Center they were bored and wanted to buy nothing)...but after seeing the cartoon, they became huge fans of the card game and the Nintendo games (and having just brought them back to the Nintendo store they were like kids on crack begging for everything within site).
hahaha, nice. All of A: TLA is available on Netflix instant. It really is outstanding. I say this as a 27 year old, grown-ass man (well, as grown-ass as one can be who discusses cartoons, video games, and comics online), it is one of the most rewarding television watching experiences that I have ever had.

My point? I think today kids have to find what resonates with them and then they'll read it. For whatever reason, cartoons about superheroes rarely make my boys top list...every episode of Avengers Assemble, Ultimate Spider-man, Young Justice and Green Lantern goes unwatched (unless I watch it ), whereas they will watch Adventure Time, Regular Show, MAD TV, Clone Wars and Thundercats over and over again. Random question, Wood. Have your boys watched Avatar: The Last Airbender/ Legend of Korra? That stuff is the truth.

At first I was a little baffled by the use of the Chitauri, but realistically this was as much an "Ultimates" homage as it was a 616 homage. I certainly preferred the use of that alien race to the Skrulls or Kree (or even the Shi'ar) because they were effectively cannon fodder and those other races have so much history and nuance that I would've found it odd to have them simply serving as bullets in Loki's gun.
They didn't really even need to be anything other than just Loki's Army. I just got a kick out of the fact that they used something from the comics.

Very Satisfied with the Bengals 1st round. Addressed from very glaring needs and loved that they picked up that extra 3rd rounder from the Pats. If they can pick up Isaiah Pead in the 2nd or 3rd I will be one happy boy.

Yeah, they kinda aren't.
Anything that reminds me of time spent reading the funnies at my grandparents' kitchen table, isn't bad by any stretch.
Whatever floats your boat, my man! For me, the comic strip discussion begins and ends with Calvin and Hobbes.
