If Braxton makes WWC 09 there will be much rejoicing in the streets. I'm already getting excited because of all my good buddies that are planning on making it.

Here's a new commercial explaining to the world why Chicago is awesome.
I tend to agree.

Tom and I both agreed that now was a good time to make TSSTG Archive Vol.1 our next Book Club selection at Around Comics.

Go get em folks.

I can bring the pain either way. Drunk

Persuaded, paraded, enebriated, and down
Still aware of everything life carries on without
'Cause there's one too many faces
with dollar sign smiles
Got to find the shortest path to the bar for a while

A long way from happiness
In a three-hour-away town
Whiskey bottle over Jesus
Not forever, just for now
Not forever, just for now

Uncle Tupelo

MAJOR KARMA!

Here's my favorite Tupelo tune.

Still Be Around -

I don't see you through the windshield
I don't see you in faces looking back at me
alcohol doesn't have much that matters to say
can't imagine where you and time to kill will stay

when the bible is a bottle
and the hardwood floor is home
when morning comes twice a day or not at all
if I break in two will you put me back together
when this puzzle's figured out will you still be around
to say you've just been there
walking the line upside down

walked and breathed many a cancerous mile
where the bat of an eye is too slow to beat the coffin
they won't tell it on the TV
they can't say it on the radio
they pay to move it off the shelf and into our minds
until you can't tell the truth
when it's right in front of your eyes

when the bible is a bottle
and the hardwood floor is home
when morning comes twice a day or not at all
if I break in two will you put me back together
when this puzzle's figured out will you still be around
to say you've just been there
walking the line upside down

There are fantastic mainstream superhero comics and fantastic "art" comics as well. Calling one out for being less is close minded and elitist. Opening yourself up to enjoy or at least try all areas of the medium makes you a better person. Except Manga, which is all shit.

Oni had a nice sale last year where they pulled out some out of print copies and I was able to finish things off.
2329  Forums / The Bullpen / Reason 1001 why Ande Parks is awesome. on: 12:08 PM | Friday, August 15, 2008
I love Ande. He's a fantastic person and a damn fine comics creator. He also has a love for the medium that we could all take a lesson from. He flat out knows his stuff, and now he's sharing his thoughts and some great artwork from his private collection every day.

Back once more with the wallop in the score
Must I ride and rip, should I make you rock your hip
   Reviver of a roller-boogie in a rink
And sure to make you think about the times
To scope fun instead of fights
(But diving from a piece of metal sure to take your life)
Yo, slip your butt to the fix of this mix
Toss that briefcase, it's time to let loose
'Cause you've worked like heck to get the week in check
So unfasten that noose around your neck
Connected like a vibe from the wheel to the foot
Come on everybody dig the funky output

De La Soul
A Roller Skating Jam Named "Saturdays"

Switching it over to AM
Searching for a truer sound
Can't recall the call letters
Steel guitar and settle down
Catching an all-night station somewhere in Louisiana
It sounds like 1963, but for now it sounds like heaven

I was forced to give Wood negative Karma because of the 700 rap CDs.

I figure that and only buying Marvel for the decade go hand in hand...

So I'm listening now and had to stop the episode to respond to the Shaken VS. Stirred debate...

As someone who has slung cocktails for the starts there is a polarizing difference between the two martini preparations.  Some believe stirring does not "upset" the balance of the liquor.  Personally I believe that is bullshit.  I strongly suggest the shaken version for two reasons...

1.  As my man Neseman stated, temperature plays a major part in ALL libations.  A single cube in a bourbon changes it's flavor's dignity dramatically.  A snifter of Grand Marnier Centenair (when held properly) is amazing.  Warm white wine tastes completely different than a bottle chilled to 49º.  Do I really have to get into how different room temperature beer is compared to one pulled out of a magnificent ice bath?

2. There is more to a drink than just the flavor.  Texture plays a big part in the cocktail.  When you shake a martini properly, there should be an amazing collection of tiny ice crystals floating on the top.  These glorious little icebergs enhance the palate's appreciation of the elixir in hand.

I hope this helps.  Smiley

I was careful to not try and sound like an expert. I was actually thinking of you as a person that would have the better info.
Thanks for not disappointing!

Did they ever release these in HC format ?

Yes. Oni has released each arc in beautiful hard covers. They're a tad expensive, and not always easy to find.
They're the red books in the background. There are 11 of them in total. It's a better bet to stick with the definitive editions for now.

Mike was very concerned with making Jean look right. He hired two models that were the correct age and worked from there to get the right look.

 Thumbs Up
