I for one really like where this is going.

And that video is delightful.

I'm glad she is still on the book, but this is all very weird.

Why does it seem that comics is the most unprofessional industry in the world sometimes?
3  Forums / The Monkees Room / Re: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey: Theatrical Review on: 12:12 AM | Wednesday, December 19, 2012
I loved it.  I thought the pacing was a little off, but I still loved it.

Holy shit son.

We are truly blessed to live in such times  Wink Boogie (only slightly exaggerating).  This, Avengers, LOTR, movies are so awesome right now.

It depends on the artist, but in Batman it's creepy as hell.

Can somebody tell me WHY he did this though?  All I know is that he did it in the first issue of Detective.

I'm way late to this party, but thats awesome man.  I'm glad you did it and I'm equally glad that this forum is the kind of place that you feel so comfortable in.

 Thumbs Up

I could also see her going to a major book publisher, someone that really wants to leverage the graphic novel format more and would allow Karen to curate that line of growth for them.

This could be really cool.

Vertigo, and her, have helped create some of my favorite comics of all time.  THanks for that Karen.

There are 300 billionaires and 1 million millionaires in China!?  Holy shit!
9  Forums / The Bullpen / Re: What are your top 5 Books you currently read on: 08:12 PM | Saturday, December 01, 2012
Batman- It's great.  Joker is great.  I love the weird love/obsession thing Joker has for Batman.

Saga- The single most imaginative and unpredictable book I'm reading right now.

Manhattan Projects- The second most imaginative and unpredictable book I'm reading right now

Wonder Woman- Does Greek mythology right; the gods are a messed up, fucked up family and they act like it.

Uncanny X-Force- Not quite what it was during the Dark Angel Saga, but it's still so good.  I'm glad it's doing out on a high note.

Couple more issues and I'm sure Aaron/Ribic's Thor will be on this list.

Ragnarok has always been a favorite of mine.
11  Forums / The Bullpen / Re: The Apocalypse and Batman... just a meandering thought. on: 05:11 AM | Sunday, November 25, 2012
Where do you think our current mythologies come from?  Wink
12  Forums / The Monkees Room / Re: When was the last time you LOVED on: 06:11 PM | Saturday, November 24, 2012
Batman- Right now.  Good grief is it good.

Superman- I've never had a "L" love run of Superman because I have read very little of it.  I did love All-Star but I read that all at once.

X-Men- The first part of Wolverine and the X-Men was always at the top of my list.  It still is close, but it's not quite as good.  If we count X-Force, it's the first book I read each week it's out.

Spider-Man- While I like Spidey right now plenty, the brain trust hey day was awesome.  Really loved those stories and artists.

Avengers- The early Bendis stuff is a big part of what got me into comics.  I love those issues.
13  Forums / The Bullpen / Re: Green Arrow Year One - but now where do I go? on: 10:11 PM | Monday, November 19, 2012
I read all of the series beginning with Kevin Smith's run till Green Arrow and Black Canary got married.  It was all really fun and very well done.  I would recommend that whole series.
14  Forums / The Bullpen / Re: Iron Man, Gillen/Land on: 06:11 PM | Tuesday, November 13, 2012
The blond Tony is talking to looks exactly like his Emma Frost. It is like he just cut and pasted her from an issue of Xmen.

This is the big problem.  His people can have absurd facial expressions and everybody can have porno bodies; thats fine, but I need to be able to tell characters apart.  There are two redheads in this book, Peppe and the security chick whose name I forget.  I know I'm not going to be able to tell them apart if they are in the same book.
15  Forums / The Bullpen / Re: Tony Harris went off!!!! on: 06:11 PM | Tuesday, November 13, 2012
This is why I don't read or listen to many interviews with creators.  I should not have to think about this bullshit when I'm reading somebody's book.

I have "civilian" friends who don't know much about comics but enjoy dressing up for cons or movie premiers.  Who the fuck cares how much of a fan they are?  They are participating in the culture to the degree that they want.  Which is awesome.

Fuck off Tony Harris.
16  Forums / The Monkees Room / Re: Skyfall...... on: 06:11 PM | Monday, November 12, 2012
A great movie.  Loved the throwbacks to the older films and I loved the end.  One more movie of this quality and Craig will definitely be my favorite Bond.

I really liked how the villain's goal was NOT to take over the world.  Refreshing.

Read the first issue, liked it quite a bit.  I've always liked the Extremis technology and why Tony fears it so much.

The art was fine; I guess I'm just used to weird facial expressions from Land so it doesn't bother me.  I thought his storytelling and layouts were quite nice.  The panel with the AIM guy on fire early on in the book was awesome.

19  Forums / The Monkees Room / Re: What's your favourite number of members in a team? on: 11:11 PM | Thursday, November 01, 2012
7 I guess.  I have much stronger feelings that teams should have an uneven number.  I don't know why  Thinking
20  Forums / The Bullpen / Re: Damn, every single issue on: 06:11 PM | Thursday, November 01, 2012

I also have to add FVL's Archer & Armstrong! Read the first 3 issues last night and I absolutely loved it!

This.  A&A is so freaking good; it's right up at the top of my pile each week.

Hickman's Fantastic Four stuff was on this list as was Journey Into Mystery and Thor.  Shit... all my stuff is ending  Angry

Current stuff would include Wolverine & the X-Men, Manhattan Projects and Hellblazer (A book of quality that I'm constantly forgetting about).
