Anyone else get the music stuck in there head "Tchalla he hey, Tchalla he hey "... could you imagine if it was "Peter Parker he hey..."

Took a peek at the first episode on Youtube and I agree with kinetic. The animation style is like paper dolls/shadow puppets. I'll watch more of it to see if I can get over it, but aesthetically it's not hitting the spot, on first look.

EDIT: I watched the rest of the episode and enjoyed it enough to want more. It seems to split the difference between motion comics and full cel animation.
The voice acting for Cap in the first episode was so "off" that it was hilarious. It takes one mismatch to make you realize how often they get it right.
in all fairness the first episode is rough. and i agree that cap voice was off. but it does get alot better including the animation

I need to check it out... I'm way behind on animated series in general but this is such a niche show that I feel I need to watch it. I hope they dont go all "uga chacka" with Wakanda though, I prefer when they look like a regular african nation instead of something out of an old jungle comic. Ultimate Avengers 2 really pissed me off with the laser spears and all that crap.
Yeah...You won't be sad i don't think about how the wakanda is portrayed, if you like the comics, you'll like this.

Dan Slott is really knocking it out the park with the Mysterio arc.  Man he knows how to use his Spidey history well.  Was I the only one excited to see the flashback scene with
Captain Stacey and Jean De Wolfe
?  Vince, David, anyone?
It was good but it served a story point for the reveal later in the episode

I love how spidey was straight to the point "you played your hand to hard" brilliant

Anyone else watching this i haven't heard much talk?

Aweome mix of Priest and Hundilini (or however you spell it) with an animated style almost spot on to JrJr

loads of Marvel Universe cameos
Captain America
X-men
Black Knight
Radioactive man
Batroc
Deathlok
Wolverine

and it is hard core as hell, gallons of Blood, eyes popping, Whores killing tricks, Stan Lee voicing a VERY racist general ???

this series is nuts

if you get a chance check it out

I was at my LCS today and I ended walking out with GI Joe: Cobra II #1 and Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth #5 - #7.

I haven't read a GI Joe comic in years and I never read a Deadpool comic, except for the occasional X-Men crossover.

But after listening to guys go on and on about these comics (including Chris' iFanboy interview with the creators), I felt I had to try out these books.

My Two Characters  Hearts in comics right now, Chuckles and Deadpool

So you haven't read any of the first GIJoe: Cobra, let me know how you go just reading 2, i think it could stand up

Deadpool  MwaM 7 is a interesting place to start your Deadpool reading  Thinking  Kinda like buying Green Lantern Corps, but not reading Green Lantern, let us know how you go there to

I mean who wants to be the only LCS without rings?

Hey there out there, same as stores that ordered the perfect amount and others that where stuck with rings in excess

I gotta say chris, i do agree with wood that it is a petty move on marvels part, but to play devils advocate the reason Marvel is asking for "Ripped" covers is to save LCS owners savings in shipping cost, Marvel has said you are more then welcome to send in  full books and any full books that marvel get they will donate to the soldiers overseas

I feel Vince's pain. The poser thing is just as bad as people over-doing photoref. There's another usually brilliant artist that over uses Poser. You can guess who. Oh wait, where'd this cover come from?!

I new there was something that bothered me about this artist cover work, didn't realiase it was poser work, but know its hit me the characters have no wait to them, there like balloons on a page

Really a whole issue.

I know he is one of the characters in the upcoming Deadpool Corp, but I certainly won't be buying it if it has more of those badly posed mannequin characters.
I'm usming we will go with the same style since his used it in the Deadpool 900 and MWAM 7, but chances are its an origin issue of Major Deadpool,

If your not that big in to the series you can more then likely skip this issue as its a one off preview with out it effecting Deadpool Corp proper

I didn't even wanted to mention this whole thing, because I try to ignore and not buy books with such art. But in case of Kyle Baker it's just painful to compare his older work with his recent work. I mean, how can an artist of such caliber look at those pages and send them in without thinking of losing an ounce of one's own credibility as an artist?

That's not even a good rendering, Mr. Baker! Goddamn it! You're making me cry too!

Lets just be glad he didn't go over board on it in Wednesday comics.

I'm worried about the One shot issue oof Deadpool Corps his doing now, i dealt with this fine as a few pages of a universe but a Whole issue is a little dunting
116  Forums / The Bullpen / Re: fellow Australian comic bookers on: 03:01 AM | Monday, January 25, 2010
Normally signing of work is free, but commissons cost depends on artist, some do it for free others charge, it can also depend on what you want,

If the artist does a quick head sketches for free i tend to get one inside of a book, but i got a mate the collects his favorite characters that artist has worked on as often pays around $50

i'd say perez is a going to cost you $50, but he is a "hero intiative"  member so maybe you could work out a donation deal

Did you know that no Deadpool series has ever gotten to one hundred issues?  I think the highest that one has ever gotten too was #69.

yeah but his never been canceled they lead into other books since 97 his been in a monthly series

Deadpool>Agent X>Cable & Deadpool > Deadpool (and know all the other titles)

also in all fairness 69 is a pretty high number for a book that isn't a Iconic character, that first series was a nice run

Moral of the story?

I think he's a terribly overused character. That's my opinion. Deal with it. Wood does.

I'm fine with him being Quote Un Quote "Overused" in fact i embrace it, If i was a soccer fan this is world cup for me right now. So if your asking me to deal with that i'm more then fine with it.

If your refereeing to the fact that i should deal with "you" thinking his an over used character then fair enough and fair point, it is a free country (actually its the internet but most of us live in one of the free countries).

But let me ask you this, Why does it matter, i could give you a handful of characters that appear in a tone of books each month. and sure appearing in alot of books can effect the use of the character. But with deadpool so far (imoa) all the books have been great. Are you chris even reading any of these books? and if so and your not enjoying them why not just pick up something else you do enjoy, and if you don't get them why does it matter if he is being over exposed.

I hate to play the heart card but its on my mind right know so here goes, i got one of my best mates in hospital with a brain Tumor right now, he was informed the other day he has only a few days left to live, he is 22 years old, his family and we his close friends are spending as much time with him as we can. in that time he has never complained once! no "Why Me"

So if a comic book character is being over exposed is the biggest complaint we have in life then where very lucky people

and yes i am awhere of the irony of me talking about this while i could be off doing other things as well.

but look, in the end, i just don't get, If people are enjoying it, Whats the problem

In my own defense, I have never said the books are bad. C'mon...Deadpool Corps....even Marvel is laughing about it.

But isn't that the whole point, even back in the Ninties during the time DC did JLApe , Deadpool did an Ape varient cover.

I love when writers give Deadpool Pathos like Joe Kelly did, but theres no denying his also a joke character can can do commentry.

DC is doing an event based around superman books, well Deadpool sells more books then superman so why not have a deadpool event

If someone won't try Scar Tissue or Athena Voltaire or School because I don't like Deadpool, it's their loss.

It's Marvel's job to sell Deadpool.  Not mine.  I'm here to talk about what I'm reading and take shots at things my friends like.
Sorry David, i wasn't as clear as i'd hoped to be.

I'm not saying you need to Sell deadpool, hell he dosen't even need the help, Personally i don't even think you are where picking on deadpool (well this issue anyway) I know you don't care for pool, and you go about it with respect .

But it does seem to me (and lets be honest, i'm fucking biased with this character) that every other podcast is talking about Deadpool selling alot of books and how it dosen't make sense, and often i find it to be in a derogetory tone, as if its the way people talk about twilights quility.

It seems to me to just be a bad running joke at this point. the reason i put it out there on this board not only because it came up on this weeks episode but also because i know this is a centre point as well for other podcasts. I didn't want to direct it at any podcast in general

For me its like when people say "lets not talk about numbers"
