Am i the only one who thinks comic book podcast hosts making fun of Deadpool being in alot of books is done to death these days. Also its going against one of the main salesman rules, don't pick on the popular your being a expert one, if your selling Mobile phones you don't make fun of Nokia because even if you strongly believe it alot of people will think "hey i like Nokia that his putting down so what his offering i probably won't like" whats that got to do with comics podcasting, think of everytime your trying to help an indie creator (maybe a friend of the show or just something you enjoy ) push there book, but alot of listners are thinking "Well they didn't like the marvel book i like, why i probably wouldn't enjoy this indie book" Not saying you can't critic a book, but becarful about putting a book down for no other reason then its popular. (Just so you know, before working in Film/TV i was one of the number one salesmen country wide for the biggest communications network in Australia, so i'm not just making this shit up) Moral of the story: Don't Pee on the Pool .

And you helping global literacy!
Hey, are any of you guys reading Battlefields: Happy Valley? Aussie pride lol. Mate.
I looked at it in the store, i do want to check it out but think i'll wait to trade, in fact i want to check out the whole battlefeild line, it seems like good garth ennis (punisher Maxx) to me and not bad garth ennis (Boys ) (not that boys is bad but i don't care for the over violent/gross situations he does, but i really like his character work and i find it takes away from that)

And one could argue that it's only the success of Wolverine: Origins that has catapulted Deadpool up the list.
Really steve, this may not be the thread for it, but i would like to hear that arguement for that someday, personally i'd say the character performed well Spit the movie (and i'm not a hater i enjoyed the movie) Deadpool has been in a Monthly title since 1997 sure there have been title boots, but for a character for from 1990 thats own title started in the comics crash of the 90's and still survived. not to mention the Cable Deadpool trades have been steady sellers for marvel for years,

I am not a fan of Jeff Loeb's books. Rather than tell strong stories, at least the last few years he just seems to throw every popular character AND the kitchen sink into his series. BUT, I after listening to an interview with him on Word Balloon last year, I at least now understand a bit WHY he does that. In his words, he makes a comic as marketable as possible as he can for the retailer by throwing in X-Force, Deadpool, a few Wolverine's etc. I don't like that strategy (and avoid Loeb's books because of it), but I grudingly respect that it works. His books sell.
actually the sales on Loebs hulk where higher before he started doing this

Not meaning to offended anyone, and you never know for sure, but to be honest if there was a race for biggest deadpool fan, i'd probably be the bookies favorite
I buy anything deadpool, his my guy, I actually grew up with the guy, I work in the Australian comedy circuit and credit Joe Kelly's run as one of my biggest influences
as for the overexposure, i'm mixed, sometimes i love the amount of pool content out there, i do however worry that the moore books the more chance that there will be a bad book.
see my faith in deadpool has never really been tested i think everything with him is great, and never came across a bad pool story.
on the other hand i think the character is here to stay, i know alot worry about the punisher effect, but remember the punisher crash happened excatly the same time as the 90's crash, deadpool's solo started in the 90's crash and survived these many years
Deadpool (people will find this debatable) but is like Batman to me where he can fit into anytype of story, gritty hard boild max style to far out space magic adventure,

Hey guys, any of the melbourne 11 O'Clockers know if their LCS has any issues of the Ted Kord Blue Beetle series from 1985 or so? Trying to get the whole series, and not having much luck. The only ebay I can find with the whole thing doesn't ship to Aus.
I never seen them at my local "R Us" but for back issues the best bets are Alternate Worlds that i'm guessing you tired already Andrew, so my second bet would be "Collectors Edge" in moone Ponds

Oh, well, Blake Lively is the best there is, bar none. I've never seen her work so i can't comment, and does hollywood always get it right? hell no, and trust me, i work for the dickheads from time to time, but no one sets out to make a bad movie, Hollywood is not as simple as these are 100% our perfect actors, now go get them. so many factors go into who you can use it often does become a shortened list from who to pick from. do they get it right, not always. but every know and then we do get surprised

When the relatives of Jerry Seigel won their case and Joe Simon got a payout, a legal precedent has been set. the Tiki Not really Superman was created and existed before DC comics purchased by it, they brought the copyright, Kirby's work however was work for hire, Marvel was the Original owner of the copyrights. two cases are very different

Kirsten Dunst isn't a redhead and she made a sh*tty movie redhead. Alba made a sh*tty blonde. Why not pick from the THOUSANDS of other actors who are of the same approximate age and equally talented who actually look like the character they're playing? Just my opinion. Tom cruise dosen't have grey hair Ron Perlman wasn't black haired Siennna Miller dosen't have black hair Jef bridges has hair JK Simmons dosen't have hair i think they should just cast who they think is best for the role not some cosmitic thing that can be changed
