Why Don't they make Giant Monster comics???
beyond the obvious sales numbers argument
I think it would have to do with the fact its more of a writers medium, and one thing giant monster comics weren't really well known for as delving into character study. Giant Monster comics is more of a artist book

I'm all for letting things stand on their own, so maybe Garth shouldn't have said The Boys would out Preacher Preacher even if I understand why he would.
Eventually I'll make my way back to the title.
Garth has stated himself that the line " Will out preacher, Preacher" actually translates to " We want to sell alot of copies" and as the biggest selling indie book (thats not a licensed property) i think it worked for him

See, and here I thought this was going to be a thread that poked fun of the "I'm so sick of Deadpool" thread because in that I voiced how Deadpool was outselling Superman handily. But nope...this is just yet another "let me complain about a book instead of the hundreds I might like that also come out each month." Oh joy.
Karma Wood, I posted something simialar woods recently on the CGS boards, http://www.thecomicforums.com/forum2//index.php?showtopic=166172I don't think you have to stop Criticing or voicing a Dislike of a book, forums are a place to have a voice, but straight out complaining about book just seems waste, even more so if your not reading, and if you are reading it then there must be something you like about it to keep paying for it, be happy with that. also if you do feel need to start a conversation with a negative slant, try to start one with a positive one. there are SO MANY great books out there if your not enjoying comics its your own fault for not looking hard enough! sorry if i sound like a dick at the moment But if the worse thing in your life is bad comic, you my friend am a very lucky person!

Hey, did you guys see the new "I Am An Avenger" ad with Wade?
Thoughts?
I think thats more to do with his Heroic Age story in his own title , then him actually becoming an avenger

i gotta say i love Hickmans work, was there day one with Nightly News (probably my most lent out trade to none comic readers) but... i don't know if i should listen to interviews with him. i don't know why. i find them interesting. ie how SHIELD was actually a pitch for SWORD and such but i think o expect him to a the king of Knowledge that when i actually hear him speak it never hits with my mental image of him, still if he keeps up the FF and SW i'm there

Sales into the direct market are up 30% versus 5 years ago: http://blog.comichron.com/search/label/2009%20salesYou can't just look at the Top 10, that's a totally irrelevant metric, particularly for the Big 2 who put out 180-200 individual single issues a month, plus dozens of collected editions. While the number of single issues sold each month is in secular decline (even today), that's more than been offset by: *** Increased prices *** Sales of collected editions And that 30% figure doesn't take into account the growing presence of collected editions in the book market. While that's still a smaller business overall, it's been growing too, particularly for Marvel and DC. Right right, i get you know i was thinking Units not Dollars i see where your coming from know i try not to focus on top 10 but it does slip into my disscusions. two years listening to the Mayo Report each month you'd think i'd learn

I will never buy another Jeph Loeb written book even if Jesus Christ was the artist. I don't think the art would be that good on it anyway, he had some pretty bad hand injuries a little while age

Vince B in all fairness to the Planet Hulk film, (and i haven't seen it so i can't judge) but its more then likely they legally couldn't use the Silver Surfer in the film since 20th century Fox has the Film rights to Silver Surfer

Marvel and DC's sales aren't declining, they're in much better shape than they were 5 and 10 years ago.
In what way are speaking Wood? I'm going off the Diamond charts (which i know arn't sales of the rack) but they are sales for Marvel and DC from all accounts see the numbers have been shrinking at least in terms of comics, sure trade sales have increased but no where near in size that singles have shrunk. the top 10 sales today look like the top 30 -40 sales from 5 years ago

You know what i don't Care. Let them make Watchmen 2... whats the worse that can happen?
1) it sucks, big surprise, a tone of people get to shout at DC We told you so. Would it really hurt the original watchmen, Godfather 3 didn't hurt Godfather.
2) it actually turns out good and we get another good comic, Top 10 carried on just fine without Alan Moore, same with Swampthing. I think Paul Cornel wrote a better Captain Britain story then Alan Moore.
I'm actually getting sick a tired of comic books having to many sacred cows.
If watchmen 2 is the worst thing to happen to you in the coming years then you my friend am a very lucky person
