I can see them go back a gen to crazy load it with older stuff because by this time the PS1 and PS2 emulation has become pure software. At least until they have working alternatives for other things.

They added brand new Vita games to it rather quickly so who knows where they will take that.

Also I heard an anecdote that perfectly explains why I am looking for a technology baseline increase in the consoles. In Mass Effect 3 you have no player agency in the holstering of your weapon. The reason for this was because there was literally no more memory left to add it in. So when you consider how small an action that is and current games were straining that much against the hardware, I can only imagine what the gigantic leap in memory will provide developers to do with what they will.

Go play Crysis (yes the 2007 game) and tell me there is not well designed artistry involved.

You can make games more visually impressive without them 'looking' that much better. Level of detail, fidelity all that stuff is in the background of this too.

Also don't forget the difference these things go through in 8 months. Perfect Dark Zero to Gears of War. Heavenly Sword to Uncharted 2, launch games never do the hardware a good showing.

That all being said the Microsoft thing and the rest of the day of press releases will keep me from ever supporting that thing.

Leaning Girl (Obscure Cities) Kickstarter is finally live!!!  176 page graphic novel, translated into english, produced in Europe by the same printer doing the European editions, with Peeters & Schuiten blessing.  $30 for 176 pages, whereas the cinebook editions were ~$15 for 48 pages.

Also, I've never read these, but am pretty excited for no reason other than Joe McCulloch spoke at length about the series while on the Comic Books are Burning in Hell podcast.

I would be all in on this if the international shipping wasn't insane.

The film still suffers from the same problem that the original does. It doesn't hold together it just moves at such a fast speed as to try and fool you that everything is glued properly.

Also I usually prefer my films (even, especially) the bigger ones to have some sort of directorial voice behind them and Abrams and continually not had anything behind his movies except for the brand stewardship that all of his feature films to date have been about.

Current 2000AD is really perfect.

Hell I think I would almost pay the weekly cost for Planet Zombo alone.

This was the first thing I read through post TCAF and it was amazing. All the single images I wish were longer and all the strips work perfectly as they are.

8  Forums / The Bullpen / Re: Disney-ification of Marvel? on: 04:05 PM | Tuesday, May 14, 2013
This thread has gotten me thinking about why the Marvel NOW stuff hasn't grabbed me. I gave like 4 or 5 of the books #1s a try. Part of it is the double shipping stuff and I still balk at spending that much a month on Marvel books, which also ties into Marvels policy to not discount a month after release like everyone else seems to.

I think though the Disney-ification described in this thread explains it. Sure it may not have affected the content directly but the books feel smoother and pristine, and while a completely cluster fuck isn't what I want either (see DC) I think rough edges are a good thing for all art, and if I have learned anything about Disney over the years that is what they target first.

The only thing I have read so far from my crazy weekend was 4 pages of one of the back issues I snagged at the Beguiling.

Final picture of all my shopping.

Incredible weekend and then finished it off Sunday night with a double bill of Room 237 & The Shining down at the Lightbox

The camera on that tablet is not as good as I thought it was.

So the only Gundam I have had experience with is Wing and G and after hearing great things about this and it being published by Vertical (which is kinda weird). This book is pretty amazing and the storytelling and characters are pretty much perfect.

Isn't it expanded to the whole building this year? Partly because they are adding that sports section onto the side.

#6 is the closest this comes to an arc break and damn the last couple issues are exactly what I want to read from my comics every month.

The last line of that update is kinda funny because I sent him an email when the last update went up and have yet to get a response to it.

Those two series are held up for much more than their plots. In fact it is mostly not the actually story of either that is what is most important.
