Lotta good stuff over there. Also, a lot of "Order THIS BOOK with THIS BOOK for additional amount off". Then you add that extra 20% on and It's On Like Donkey Kong.
Whatchoo order, Jason?
Playboy's Dedini tome and the Tales to Thrizzle package (includes the hardcover of the first four issues plus issues 5 & 6)

I got to see Mr. Raker and the esteemed Tiki on Sunday, and I had a good time hanging with them for the little time that I did. The Tiki has a gift. He talks to you, and when he does, he makes you feel like you're an old friend. He's good people. Mr. Raker is also a badass. As far as walking around the con is concerned, you really do have to assemble specialized groups to help navigate through a crowd. (I STILL say you should all do San Diego once. There's more aisle space. Also, our city is awesome.) I was happy I got to see some 11OC peeps over the weekend. From Raph and Chris on Thursday, to Mario, Julian and David on Sunday. STILL disappointed that I missed out on seeing Vince and Wood and Alan and Tony, as well as Mr. Fowler but that just happens sometimes. I had a great time. Working on getting over post-con depression right now.

You're off by a few hours. Franky was the Jesus-lookin' dude we met when we first walked into the Center on our way to get the press passes. Right after I picked up the professional pass, I believe.
Oh yeah!......Whoops, I was thinking of when Alan introduced me to Johnny the Homicidal Drummer at Virgil's.

Great episode guys! The main reason I love this podcast is because I don't have friends who read comics. So listening to you guys talk once a week is like hanging with the boys. However, when you guys get back from a con and talk about all the cool people who you spent time with, I feel like the kid who was grounded and didn't get to go to the party. One of these days I'm going to make it to a con and buy all four of you guys a round. Thanks for the hours of free entertainment. I actually read this post to my wife out loud. True that. Karma.

I had a great time at the con and I enjoyed seeing so many people. As i was walking through the con I was surprised to see and here comic buyers compain about anime people being a part of the con. I even saw a dude in a Wolverine outfit say that the anime people were weird and I thought to myself how can any of us comic fans think to judge like that. My thing is whatever gets people in the building is good for comics as a whole. I talk to artists that were selling sketches to not just comic buyers but Anime people too. There are so many people who buy anime and other comics and if we want the medium to grow we have to let go of this elitist type of attitude that i see people having. That will never do anything but turn off a potential convert. This con had a youthful energy that I think us old farts have forgotten about. The best thing i saw at the con was a guy with a Naruto book in one hand and a Spiderman book in the other.

Nope, we've decided to abandon that format entirely.

Nope, we've decided to abandon that format entirely. You guys should have show notes or something to let people know what you talk about on an episode, then they can decide if they want to listen or not.

Twice a year we get together at a convention. Twice a year we talk about the convention experience on the show. Normally I'd just make a joke about sending you a refund after a post like that, but I'm not going to do that. Instead, I'm offering you and any other listener a chance to paypal me $20 and I'll talk about whatever you want me to in the next episode. PM me for more information.

Hmm... $20 to torture Jason, Vince and David with Curling talk... tempting.
Will you take $20 Canadian?

I thought he was going to do that anyway. As for the cosplayers, I totally agree with the statements. They are almost as bad as the cart people but it's the people who want to take their pictures that cause the problems. I know a lot of areas at cons for cosplaying pics. They have parades, fashion shows, etc at different exhibitor booths. It's the "during the con and in the aisle" crap that fucks everything up. However, the cart people still take the cake. If you want all 75 issues of Walking Dead signed, you should have to suffer with carrying 75 issues of Walking Dead with you the entire day. Oh, and I wanted to give Vince a little eye candy of a cosplaying friend of mine. He's seen her before at Wizard Chicago as Anna Mercury. But I think he may like this one better.

Prison Pit is a comic. A damn good one, too. So is the Lady Death Free Preview, which was good, and, like Vince said, the coloring is exquisite. I was sold on Pulido's pitch to us at NYCC, I just needed to make sure the art was enough to my liking, which it is. I didn't like that previous 'Lady Death: Alive' re-boot as I said at the time on the Con floor, but this story sounds interesting.....might be the first time I'm picking up a Lady Death publication with the story in mind!

I didn't run into any cart people at NYCC. On the Kirkman line a few people had 5-10 books but it went quickly.
As for the cosplayers, they didn't bother me much either. I've heard people say it was hard getting around them, but I didn't find like that. The only spot where the con was crowded was the dealer area because the isles were smaller. Hopefully with the construction done next year, they can widen those rows a bit.

Can I pay $20 to replace Chris with Tom Katers? Prison Pit is a comic. A damn good one, too. ...must have been later in the podcast. I zoned out with all of the name-dropping and seemingly endless lists of folks you wanted to thank and/or mention seeing (as if they didn't know that you saw them)! Now I have a reason to go back and listen to the last hour. I don't want to come off as hating all non-comic talk; but for folks who don't do cons, it can get a bit tedious. I'm sure a fun time was had by all. and perhaps I would care more about the folks you mention if I knew who they were (which I would, I'm sure, if I participated in the forums...My job keeps me too busy for that however). I can't really begrudge the con-talk, as the podcast is a vehicle for the hosts and not the listeners. We choose to listen and could unsubscribe if it got to be too much like Word Balloon. I'm certainly not going to unsubscribe because of one episode!
