Just watched the first two episodes and loved it. They did a great job of getting the team together. They used the original team too. There are plenty of heroes that they have room to introduce and lots of background on the team and villains to pull from. All the characters were pretty true to the comics, action was great, son loved it and while Hulk smashed my two year old daughter jumped around screaming GO GO GO!!

Anybody else check out the new Avengers cartoon last night on DisneyXD.  It looks like its gonna be a really fun show.  They got a guy that sounds somewhat like Robert Downey to do Iron Man.  I thought Thor was the coolest though.  Graviton was pretty badass as well.

I caught the first 15 minutes with my sons this morning before I had to leave for work and loved what I saw. It was a visual feast for long-time Marvel fans to be sure. I had a bit of an issue with the Iron Man voice/personality, but I get that they're trying to emulate the young, rabble rousing version that Robert Downey portrayed in the films.

You can already see a lot of plots being set up for the future, too.  Thumbs Up

I was looking at the newt few episode details. It looks like the next few eps spotlight origins of the characters, then they jump back into a continuing Avengers plot line.

The nephew and I watched it last night.  Good times.  He loved the sheer amount of characters featured in the first 2 episodes.

Just a quick note, this is a decidedly more adult tone than the Super Hero Squad cartoon. It's not R-rated or anything, but more in line with the Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon in that there's just as much gravitas and sight gags embedded for the comic geek dads as their is action/adventure for the kiddos.

Agree

totally appropriate for most kids but fair warning if you want a real kiddo show, stick to the fantastic super hero squad.

I just watched Part 1 and really enjoyed it.  Can't wait for part 2.

And I don't mind the Iron Man voice.  We've heard so many voices for the character over the years that I don't really mind anymore.  it's not like Batman where if I don't hear Kevin Conroy, I get urked.

I thought the 20 6-minute preview shorts DisneyXD aired over the last several days as well as the first 2-parter of the regular series have been really entertaining, on both 'kid' and 'seasoned vet' levels.

The show is for ages 7 and up, so has some sophisticated/talking head scenes as well as fairly intense action.

I very much liked how they didn't dwell on character origins and explanations and got right to the action sequences.....kids'll figure out who can do what, and in general, hollywood-generated origin stories get kinda boring when you only see the hero in costume/in action at the end of the story, y'know?  They introduced a bunch of villians and didn't explore their pathos or motives.....they're just really bad guys! period!

You know that they aired part 2 right after part 1, right?

If you missed it, DisneyXD is re-airing episode 1 tomorrow (Friday) morning and episode 2 tomorrow night!

Or if your cable company or satellite provider has an OnDemand feature you can find them there as well... and for free...

I watched all of the little 8-minute shorts thanks to OnDemand, though those will be collected up into half-hour episodes.  Good stuff...
