Great month Monsta.  I loved everyone's old... and new takes on their characters.  This month I'm in charge so I'll just cut all of the pomp and circumstance and get right to it.

*******************************************

OK everyone.  I haven't taken the reigns in awhile, but May is gonna' be my month.  I just came back from an awesome weekend at C2E2 (where I bought 2 sets of Copic warm & cool grays and Copic MultiLiner's.  Now... I'm ready to use them.

So here's what we're gonna' do.  We're gonna' draw...

 Hearts HeartsCheesecake Hearts Hearts

That's right fanboys and fangirls, we're doing good girl art in the styles of... and inspired by... such modern masters of the form as

Adam Hughes   Drool

Terry Dodson   Downtown

Arthur Adams I'd Hit It Sign

and Frank Cho  Swooning

Now here's the catch... like any good tease, you have to put spoiler tags on them.  Also, to keep in theme with the art of the tease, there can be NO nudity (This means that you can't show the naughty bits).  Make your drawings as sexy as you can, but keep it within the guidelines.  But most importantly HAVE FUN DRAWING!!

Lastly, I've already said that I believe that this month will set a record for most views in a month  Whistle.  But it would be SUPER COOL if we could knock down the "most pages record" set by the Spidey-villians month too.

*******************************************

HAVE FUN!

If you're new to the thread here's how it works.  We're here to have fun and to sharpen our drawing skills.  All amateurs & professionals are welcome to participate.  If you want to submit a piece of artwork, here are the rules...Number #1) only post characters for the current month's assignment (a little spillover is OK from the previous month)...Number #2) You must be the artist (we're not looking for your original art collection, that's another thread)...& Number #3) (and most importantly) Have fun drawing.

I spent a long time thinking about this drawing. I was going to do Leonardo standing back-to-back with Usagi Yojimbo but then saw a Tony Fleecs sketch that was similar so I scrapped that idea. I drew the sketch small and scanned it in at high resolution, then printed it out very lightly and drew over that with a sharpy. I colored it digitally and tried to use a scheme close to those used by Yoshitishi.

That's a great design Monsta'.  Love it.

I'll try to get back to inking mine this weekend (it's about 1/3 done).  Unfortunately for the art (but fortunate for my budget) I've been putting in a lot of overtime at work doing drawings and design for a recycling facility on the river in Brooklyn.  By the time I get home after a 10-11 hour day the last thing I'm inclined to do is put inks down (mainly cause I hate inking).  I'm hoping to post on Monday or Tuesday.

Well...here's the finished inks.  I'm still hoping to update with a better scanner (the office copy machine just doesn't cut it.)  But for now, here's what I got...

UPDATED: With a good scan (Finally)sheesh!!

Awesome Jon!!

You need to sell that to a company that makes Surf Boards (or Skateboards).  That would be soooooo cool on a surfboard.  T-shirt even.

Andy, that's just flat out awesome. I love the composition and how you have to hunt for the turtles just enough. Plus, I'm a huge fan of high contrast black & white, so this is really in my sweet spot.

Jon O, that's got a groovy 60's Haight-Ashbury vibe. Love it. I want that on a t-shirt, too.

nilcam, great take. Good call on the palette - very soothing and serene.

Can't wait to see what's next...  Tongue

Hey Everyone.
Been awhile since I've been here and was highly motivated to get back to work after looking around the threads at all of the awesome artwork.
Hopefully there's some room for me to come back and thanks for getting me off the couch and back the the drawing board.
