I also appreciate that none of the hosts are trying to score jobs in the industry whether it is with a publisher or as creative talent.

One thing I appreciate is that EOC has always had a great audio quality and levels (the quack sounds of early episodes notwithstanding).

Also auditively the voices of the hosts are a nice balance to each other.

I got into EOC from Around Comics, and the thing that always annoyed me about that show was that when the guys started laughing, my ear drums shattered.

I'll try to avoid the temptation to start raving all the other more substancial aspects I love about EOC, but from the get-go the audio quality and insightful discussion was what distinguished the podcast from many of the others I gave a listen.

I used to keep a 30 or so episode buffer to avoid spoilers, but the show has moved away from dissecting the monthlies to more varied topics.

What I feel is generally the fault with many comic podcasts is that a guy takes three to five minutes of explaining what happened in the comic and then saying whether it was awesome or bad, whether the art was great or not - in so many words -  and then moving on to the next comic. What I like to hear is something a bit  more in-depth and personal, and that's what I find with EOC!

I used to listen to a lot of comics podcasts, now it's just EOC. It's kind of a perfect storm show where great hosts and great topics come together, but I think it's weighted a little more toward hosts because even when the topics are books in which I have zero interest, I still enjoy listening.
