Listen to the 'THE CHEMICAL BOX' podcasts

Comics were definitely happier, breezier and more confident in their own strengths before Hollywood and the Internet turned the business of writing superhero stories into the production of low budget storyboards or, worse, into conformist, fruitless attempts to impress or entertain a small group of people who appear to hate comics and their creators. - Grant Morrison

Mike Detective is, in my humble opinion, the best thing to happen to ears since q-tips.

I am gonna have to check out this House to Astonish show. Getting lots of love on here.

Also I can't believe I forgot The B.S. Report, although ever since he branched it to do Grantland I have enjoyed it less.

I also dig Doug Loves Movies depending on the guest.

Slate's Political Gabfest
Hang Up and Listen (sports)

I am surprised these two don't appear on more people's lists. They are two very good shows.

I also see a lot of This American Life, but not The Moth. Anyone who likes TAL, owes it to themselves to check out The Moth.

I have recently fallen in love with Pseudopod its a short story podcast with narrators reading different stories in the genre of horror. Great narration, great stories, and they only run about 30 minutes. Really great stuff.

Also I love this one show called Earth 2 Podcast!

I used to love the Moth but for some reason or another I just stopped listening to it. I give it another crack soon.

Yeah, great moody, ambient horror.  Good stuff.

Every time an episode comes out:
11 O'clock Comics (obviously)
Two-headed nerd (most recent discovery- short, sarcastic and pithy)
Around Comics
iFanboy Pick of the Week
EMP (official Eidos Montreal podcast- I really loved Deus Ex)
Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo's Film Reviews (it's a BBC radio show podcast- hello Jason Isaacs)
Infinite Monkey Cage (BBC radio science panel show- has featured Alan Moore)

I'll always download but will only listen if the guest/performer interests me(no slur on the quality of the hosts):
Word Balloon
Sidebar
Inkstuds
NPR Live Concerts from All Songs Considered
DC Comics Podcast (admittedly, this only comes out round about SDCC)

Podfaded (RIP)
Splash Page Podcast

I'm always happy to see these threads pop up. I have a long commuting time each week so I'm always looking for new shows. I used to be 100% comic related podcasts (save for our own Footballguys show, The Audible), but have of late really craved other types of listening.

I too have been listening to The Nerdist, and WTF with Marc Maron.  They're probably my two favorite non-comics podcasts that are also not tied tightly into our core group of friends.  I also really enjoy Matinee Idles and PKD Media Black Box is one of my favorite podcasts of any kind. I used to think of it as a comics podcast, but Shawn P is really turning that into a pop culture podcast that occasionally chats about comics. And I love him for it.

I can't recommend enough that you check out "Comedy Bang Bang", "Doug Loves Movies" and "Who Charted?"

these 3 easily fill my weekly need for comedy.  Being guest-based shows, I'd definitely recommend picking out episodes from those shows that feature guests you're most interested in... then catch up on the other episodes once you become hooked, at least thats how it worked for me.
