I can't tell if you're serious or not -- mainly because I'm tired and surly.... At least there's precedence on our side -- the team may move somewhere else, but the "Vikings" name will stay in MN. And Ziggy's a lot of bluster and postering at this point. A deal will eventually get done, but asking for a $800M stadium in this economic climate just wasn't coming off as being a high priority with the state govt. Oh, I'm 100% serious.

Eh -- the dome is what it is -- it's a crappy place to watch anything except probably Monster Truck rallies (I guess, who knows), but to rip the roof off is, unfortunately, not the answer or even a realistic possibility without a renovation similar to what happened at Soldier Field -- which really isn't worth it.

Troy Polomalu is now OUT for the Jets game... OUCH! The Steelers have had a TON of injuries this year. I am amazed they are 10-3 all things considered. the Tiki

Ha! What a joke that "$70mm extension" news was re: McNabb.
McNabb is being benched for Rex Grossman this week.
"5" is for sure done in D.C. now and will be elsewhere in 2011. If I had to rank the likely spots, just off the cuff:
1) Arizona 2) Carolina 3) Cleveland 4) San Francisco

I think I'm ready to call Mike Shanahan the biggest jackass in the history of the NFL after this year. There just aren't words for the way he's mismanaged his first year in Washington.

And the players are NOT HAPPY One thing I do know is Bill Cowher didn't want to have ANYTHING to do with the Redskins even with big $$$ being on the table. I took that as a sign that Mr. Dan Snyder is a challenge to deal with. I admit that I may be reading into that too much. Once again... outsider looking in here. the Tiki

but is it all Shanahan or the owner dipping his fingers in the pie? I honestly don't know as I'm an outsider looking in. It's definitely not the owner. The Shanahans just plain do not like McNabb or think he's a good fit for their system. This is Shanahan scapegoating his marquis players yet again. He did it a couple weeks ago with Haynesworth after that embarrassing Giants loss, and now he's doing it with his QB. What this says to the rest of the team and the fans is that the reason the Redskins sucked nuts this year is because of McNabb. And if you believe that, have I got a deal for you: McNabb has been mediocre at best with the Redskins, this is true. But we have to remember that, despite what ESPN tells us every day, the quarterback is not the team. The Skins have a poor offensive line, an inconsistent (at best) rushing attack, no big threats at wide receiver, and they're using McNabb in a way that he's never been used before (because it's not really his game). Put Tom Brady in McNabb's place and don't change anything else, and I bet you a million dollars they'd still be under .500. At 5-8, the season's already done, so I understand the desire to see what you have as far as what remains of your talent pool for next season. If they had some untested kid as their backup QB that they wanted to get some reps in for, that would at least be understandable... but Rex Grossman?! You're going out of your way to alienate your quarterback -- the guy you just signed to a big extension to make sure you could keep him around next year while you rebuild your team -- for a guy everyone knows is terrible and whose one snap this season resulted in a fumble that was run back for a touchdown. If Grossman is the plan for the future, you've not only given up on 2010, you've already given up on 2011, so you may as well go ahead and mark that in the book. Man... I've been a Skins fan all my life, through the glory days of the '80s up through the circus it's been for the past couple decades, and I've never thought about rooting for anyone else. These guys are unwatchable, incompetent, and downright unlikeable anymore, though. I've started to actively dislike my team this year. I'm really close to just being done with those bunch of fools.

And the players are NOT HAPPY Absolutely. I think he's already lost the team. Either he's got to be out next season, or they're going to have to blow the whole team up and start over from scratch. I'm fine with either option.

I don't think Ziggy is going to go that route, because I don't think the team will have a WCO coach running the show next year. But Minny will be mentioned quite a lot, for sure.

Interesting tidbit from Peter King at SI.com apparently when the Eagles were shopping McNabb in the off season the next best offer they got was a 4th rounder from Oakland, and that was one of the only offers they got. I agree that Washington is just a disaster and it cannot be put on McNabb alone, but apparently a lot of people in the league weren't exactly rushing out to pick him up.

shanahan is trying to get fired so theyll have to pay him in full. in denver his best friend was the owner. thats way he lasted so long. he comes out and says his offense takes 3 years to master. well other than elway who you inherited, who has gotten to the 3rd year of your offense and succedded. you sir or overratted. synder is equally to blame when a team is bad for a lpng period of time its the fault of the owner.
the mcnabb extestion was just a restructuring so that it cost the redskins less to get rid of him after this year with the lowest cap hit. he most likely end up in arizona next year.

Should Green Bay play Rodgers or Flynn? If they don't start Rodgers they could miss the playoffs, but is it worth it to risk another concussion?

It's ok Dave. Your not the only one the Skins have burned this year. Take it from a Cubs fan. Wait till next year.
