Same here, I watch one game a year and that is it. That said had they turned it around in the last minute, man, that would have been memorable.

Todd Haley is the new Steelers OC... I'm kinda split on this one. I guess I'm gonna have to just sit back on this one. The Tiki

He was a DISASTER as a head coach, nightmare stories. And Whisenhunt didn't want him back in 'Zona either. BUT, his role in PIT will be decidedly different, so it might work out. He's certainly a smart guy, but his main criticism is too much complexity in his schemes.

From where I sit, there is A LOT riding on this hire. Lots of EGO involved. Arthur Rooney II flexed his ownership muscle on this one. This is easily one of the more publicly visible moves he has made since inheriting the team ( mind you his finagling of contracts is also what has had the Steelers kissing the cap and left them with little wiggle room unlike in the past). Mike Tomlin had to just sit quietly and let Arians go ( He did not want to). He did not object to the hire but it has been said that he would rather wait it out to see if Kirby Wilson, his injured running backs coach, would come out of the medically induced coma and take the OC position. Ben Roethlisberger has been a big cheerleader for Arians and he actually saved his OC's job last year. Arians allowed Ben to play that "backyard style" football. Rooney wants to reign it in a bit and focus a bit more on the running game. It has been said that the reason the Steelers could carry so many WRs is because they ditched any form of a fullback. Supposedly the NY Giants Henry Hynoski originally wanted to sign with the Steelers when he went undrafted ( He is a "hometown" boy who went to Pitt) but Bruce Arians wanted no part of any Fullback at all. Todd Haley actually has a background with the Steelers. His Dad was an integral part of building the '70's dynasty. Haley was also a ballboy for the Steelers at that time. Does this mean anything in the real world? NO. But for some reason this stuff means something to Pittsburgh Fans... personally I never understood this way of thinking. Todd has been known to be an explosive personality who doesn't take crap from anyone... be it his players ( a good thing) or his bosses ( and that is a bad thing). He has also been known to be a bit of a paranoid guy at times. ... as I said earlier, I'm gonna have to sit back and see how this one plays out. the Tiki

I was so happy that my team won but at the same time so bummed that I was watching the game at 3 AM in Copenhagen, rather than celebrating with my buddies in New York. My timing is always horrible.

I completely understand why the Steelers are doing what they're doing here, but this makes me sad... Steelers won't keep Hines Ward The Pittsburgh Steelers, with a Hines Ward roster-bonus deadline fast approaching, have decided not to keep the veteran receiver, the NFL Network has reported, citing unnamed sources.
Ward, who lost his starting job in 2011, was scheduled to make $4 million in the last two years of his contract but has said he was willing to take a pay cut.
A decision is required by March 1 to satisfy a clause in his contract.
"I plan on playing with the Pittsburgh Steelers and going from there," Ward said last Thursday during Super Bowl week.
Speaking at the media center in Indianapolis, Ward called reports about his possible retirement "rumors," reiterating he wants to play next season.
Asked if he wanted to play three, four or five more years, the 35-year-old Ward laughed and said, "I don't know about that long."No 4th or 5th Wide Receiver should be paid $4MM a year on any professional team, but seeing him in another uniform is gonna break my Black and Gold heart. The Tiki

He can bring leadership to The Restoration of the Roar and win a championship next year while blocking for Leshoure.

The "Where will Hines land?" has been filling the Pittsburgh Sportstalk for the last week. The biggest bets are New England, Washington or Atlanta... Honestly I have no idea. The Tiki

Good news for STEELER Nation is that Omar Khan is not going to the Rams and will continue to be one of the Steelers unsung heroes at mastering the Salary cap (even with Rooney II getting involved with the numbers). The Tiki

Patriots won't be interested in Hines ward. They might have been had they not given chad Johnson money to tweet for two years.

You don't think Hines Ward would be more productive than Chad Ochocinco or Deon Branch? I know it's Hines in his Twilight yet I still think he has a slight edge... but then again, I freely admit I may be thinking with my heart and not my head. the Tiki

Patriots are looking for a longer term deep threat either Brandon Lloyd or through the draft. Branchs formilurarity with the offense negates any edge ward would have. The role branch or ward would play is complimentary at best, and if Brady can't relie on you to be in a certain spot your not getting thrown to. Just ask chad "waste of a down" Johnson.

With each passing day I am thinking that Mike Wallace may be leaving the Steelers. The question is, knowing that the Steelers will receive a compensatory 1st round draft choice from the team that grabs him... I assume that if the team has more than one 1st round draft pick, the Steelers actually receive the actual first round spot that the team had been slotted for (not one they recieved through previous trades). Hines Ward is no longer a Steeler. With a level head, I completely understand the situation... that doesn't make it hurt any less. the Tiki
