Looking over the penalties and fines against the Saints for that bounty thing right now. I doubt Williams ever sees the NFL again.

Holy Shit!!! Sean Payton has been suspended for the entire 2012 season with no pay. WOW. Oh and the Saints lose draft picks, Greg Williams is suspended indefinitely and Tebow is going to the Jets.

Wow, I think the a full year suspension is a bit harsh. Either way this is a huge blow to the Saints.

This is IMMENSE.

Payton is gone for a year and plus he doesn't get $6mm in salary. That's a massive penalty, far more than anything that's ever been levied before. Plus, they lose 2nd round picks in each of the next two years. Even the GM got pinched for 8 games and $500,000.

Gregg Williams was suspended indefinitely. I bet he's done in the league, and will pursue a college opportunity (if someone will have him).

FWIW, I think Payton will resign now. Tom Benson is going to want to (try) to clean house from top to bottom.

Just caught the bounty fallout before I'm off to work.

Holy #$%^, I thought Goodell would be tough, but DAMN!

What does Brees do now? Play under the franchise tag? Try and get the deal that he wants or just say "Screw it" and sit out?

This could could screw up the Saints for quite awhile/ Wow!

Oh and stw .... TEBOW TO THE JETS.  The circus is coming to New York people Roll On Floor Laughing

Brees can't be happy. Payton is the architect of the offense so losing him is no small matter, even for a veteran QB of Brees' caliber. I'm sure he's weighing his options now, but if anything I bet this makes him more likely to sign the franchise tender than he otherwise would have. He may want the same optionality he just saw Peyton Manning have come next year.

I'm just glad Miami didn't really screw things up by trading for Tebow.

I think this sums up the Tebow trade best: @God_Damn_Batman: Tebow isn’t the quarterback the Jets need. But the one they deserve.

if you traded for tebow to use him in gadget plays, you wasted your picks. he has shown no willingness to play any other position than qb.
you just added more distraction to the most fractured locker room. but what would you expect from an organization that was rolling out the red carpet for brandon merriweather.

I like the Jets but even I can't get behind this decision   They didn't give away anything major with this but at the same time, why?  They claim it will unite a divided locker room.  All it's going to do is cause further distraction.  What better way to calm the media circus that is the NYJ than adding a bigger media problem?

Way to go guys.

The players haven't been disciplined yet because the NFLPA asked the NFL to let it finish it's own internal investigation before the league office went public with punishment. It'll be coming soon.

I really like the Bengals picking up BenJarvus Green-Ellis. How can you not like a guy that hasn't fumbled since high school??

In retrospect, only Pierre Thomas and Jimmy Graham will grasp the sweet irony of it all.

The Saints…jeez.

People rationalize the steroid era in baseball all the time, this greg williams debacle…people rationalized that as well…but this new ugliness, that's a tough one to rationalize.
