Since they held Green Bay to 3 points in a win today, we'll let you participate. As a likely Top 3 pick slotted, I'm very interested in Cam Newton blowing the hell up in the bowl and wowing at workouts and the combine. Trade bizate Especially since it seems an afterthought that if Luck declares he's the #1. If not, he's definitely Top 3. For the first time in years though I feel like if we were healthy we legitimately would have had some games under our best this year, where in other years I'm not so sure it mattered. I know it sounds like the same old Lion BS (and it is) but I feel like were were out there to win most season, which to be frank, we weren't in previous seasons. O-line is always a question and we could definitely use a CB (we say this every year, hell when your golden years include Terry Fair and Bryant Westbrook you know you're in trouble). Definitely some DE and CB options in this draft for us, especially if those QBS draw attention. I feel like we balled this year with what we had. We need to keep Matty Staff on the field.

I'm a believer in winning teams find a way to win, and losing teams find a way to lose, and Detroit has continued to find ways to lose this year. But you're right; they've been far more competitive than in recent years. I mean: 5 point loss to Chicago. 3 point loss to Philly. 2 point loss to GB. 3 point loss to the Jets in OT. 3 point loss to Buffalo. 4 point loss to Chicago. It's not hard to envision a turnaround.

Hey, if we can keep trading them to Jerry Jones it's for the win.

Are Detroit Lions fans allowed to participate in the NFL thread or do we have to wait for the draft? All fans are welcome, you guys can still play spoiler as evidenced by today's win over Green Bay

Assuming you mean Katers, he's a Packers fan, Chris is the Bears fan, and yeah I'm a die hard Pats fan and with the weather report today combined with how well the Bears have been playing I thought this would be a lot closer. I give them a lot of credit though, didn't seem like the Bears gave up, which is more than I can say for the Jets last week.

I feel bad for Jets fans who two weeks ago were arguing they were the best team in the NFL, to worrying about making the playoffs. There schedule is rough.

This is turning out nicely. Everyone is talking about all things except the Pittsburgh Steelers... Muwahahahaha! They will lay low in the shadows quietly taking down opponents. The Tiki

Probably... Brady's the most dominant QB, and there hasn't been a standout rusher this season. Last time the MVP went to a position other than a quarterback or running back was 1986. What a joke of an award.

Value of a great QB is huge look at the chiefs without Cassel. but the Heisman is suppose to be the "best" player in college football, that was Ndamukong Suh last year and everyone knew it.

Also, Matt Moseley, a placekicker (of all unlikely things), got it with the Redskins one year. Other than that? ALL QBs and running backs, going back to 1957. the Heisman is the joke a Quarter back in the NFL is much more important to the team then in college. I'm not saying a QB can't be the MVP. I'm saying that limiting the 53 year-old award to 2 positions (with the exception of 3 years) is a JOKE.
