Wow, Tomlin didn't even get one vote for Coach of the year? Interesting NFL Fun fact... Chuck Noll won 4 Superbowls yet never won one Coach of the year award. The Tiki

weei = right wing political radio
both are cartoons, they are acts. sadly most people listen to these stations and think they are part of something when in reality the hosts are laughing at you while they bath in the tub of money you throw at them. the movie Big Fan is a perfect representation of what is going on here.
its hard to actually talk sports with anyone because every one thins they are soooo smart. it the same with politics. im so sick of people telling me verbatim what some talking head said on the radio.

I thought about doing the political analogy but I didn't want to touch on it too much. I listen to A LOT of sportstalk from around the US (Thank You internet and Ipod apps) and as I have noted in earlier posts I enjoy getting a taste of each city's flavor. With that being said, both the AM and FM Boston Sportstalks are crazy aggressive compared to almost any other station as a whole. The Tiki

RE: MA Sports Fans
I am often met with confusion when people see me wearing my Brewers hat or my Packers hat...though the Brewers were in the same league and division as the Red Sox for most of their history and the Packers are probably one of the biggest bandwagon teams in the last fifteen years. Genuine confusion about why I don't like the Sox and Patriots.
Part of it is that there aren't many people in Worcester who aren't from around Worcester, when I lived in Chicago there were people from all over the US who rooted for all types of teams.
Boston itself has a major inferiority complex in relation to NY and it seeps into everything, especially sports.

I am a lifelong MA sports fan, but first and foremost a Pats fan, and over the course of the last 11 years I have grown more and more annoyed with the majority of Pats fans. I think the obnoxious "we're the best and there's nobody better" mentality comes from the bandwagon fans who jumped on with the first Superbowl win in 2001/2002 and have known nothing but the team in its current successful incarnation. Sadly this includes the vocal majority of fans and gives the rest of us a bad name. The people I know who have been fans going back farther than that and can remember the bad old days tend to be much more reasonable in how they approach the team, and much more respectful in how they treat other fans. I can't speak so much to Sox fans, as I'm a much more casual baseball fan, but I think Tom has it right when you say there is an inferiority complex with New York and the Yankees. All of this combines with the fact that Bostonians in general tend to be very proud of where we live and have strong sense of identity tied to our city and community, throw in a little success and unfortunately some people let it go to their heads. Bruins fans are cool though, those are my people now if only there were more of us

I also don't have much of a problem with Sox fans, cause they remind me a bit of Packers fans. It is Patriots fans that seem a bit crazy. But that might just be the nature of football, baseball is a grind and there are going to be natural ups and downs. Football is a quick high with every game being life death in a sense.

For the record, I like the actual Sox players. Hell I know some on a first name basis (They come in to my Steak House late Sunday nights after a game). The Tiki PS: Tom I need your home address so I can get you a proper Terrible Towel for Sunday. PPS: Raji has the best endzone dance I have seen in recent history. I laugh happily every time I see the replay. I just hope he doesn't get another chance to shake his booty this Sunday.

No worries, I didn't take offense. And I agree, the Pats fans are the worst by far, and I really believe it comes from bandwagon jumpers who just haven't ever really experienced the lows of being a lifelong fan, so expectations are insanely high every year and lots of flaws get overlooked. Oh well. Turning back to actual ongoing football Packers 24 - Steelers 21

Let's settle the Superbowl right here and now. Who has the best women!
Between Pittsburgh and Green Bay? Does a wet t-shirt contest judged by body hair and back fat count?

That's the first time I've ever had a dude say I wasn't showing respect by not including his mom and sister in my approximation of the local "talent"! No offense to anyone's female relatives in GB or Pittsburgh.

I don't know what I find more amusing. That a majority of the packers women are either the redhead and the Bikini Girls or all the women wearing Big Ben jerseys. And as anyone knows, they make em husky in Green Bay for those long cold Wisconsin nights
