Anyway, I thought it was a sad and funny article about the leagues new, probably worse, Al Davis

Yeah... he's worse because he's not 108 like Al, so we don't even have the solace of knowing that in a couple years we'll have a new guy by default.  Cry   Wink

I'm ready for pitchers and catcher's to report.

What's your baseball team? I was thinking about starting up an MLB thread like this NFL one around spring training...

I fixed that for you. Wink

It's ridiculous that he didn't even make the cut ahead of Red this year. Carter was the second best receiver of his era, behind Rice, and he should have been a slam dunk entrant into the Hall. Now, I'm wondering if he'll even get in.

Every year, I hear HOF voters talk about the logjam of deserving players for the Hall while also talking about how the exclusivity of the Pro Football HOF helps make it special. If there's that much of a logjam (and there is) then perhaps it's time to let an extra player or two in per year. They certainly shouldn't be excluding players to vote in Ed Sabol. I'm not saying Sabol doesn't deserve a spot because I think he does but maybe candidates who weren't players or coaches need to go in as an extra inductee that year rather than bumping a deserving player from one of the few open slots.

Jim

I really have a problem with Sabol getting in over players because he's already in Canton by virtue of receiving the Rozelle Award. Regardless, what's done is done. Jim, dingy worry about Cris, he'll get into the Hall eventually, no doubt in my mind. The real snipe this year was Chris Doleman who deserves HOF recognition moreso than Dent IMHO. But I did think Dent was a Hall of Famer so no biggie.

Deion, Faulk and Sharpe were absolute no brainers, and the fact Sharpe had to wait to get in was an absolute joke. Next year I suspect will be the year for Dawson and Curtis Martin, as the incoming eligible class is pretty weak.

As I'm in the shower this morning something just occurred to me...  How akward/ironic would it be if James Harrison were lucky enough to win Superbowl MVP?  Just watching the exchange between Harrison and Goodell would be priceless!

The Tiki Freaky Tiki

Thinking  So you're in the shower. . .working up a nice, thick lather. . .and you're thinking about James Harrison?

This game can't come soon enough for you (and your wife).  Huh?

Same here! I also can't wait to hear Pat describe the uniforms for that first home opener. Who do you think gets the impossible task of joining him in the booth?

Rodgers was amazing. How big would his game have been if it wasn't for the drops? Possibly one of the bestseller ever.

Here's an interesting story that may only be interesting to, well, me.  Shifty Eyes

I have a die-hard Packer fan working for me and today she shared that her father and sister were one of the 400+ displaced fans at the game left without a seat. But as luck turned out, they were able to grab two seats right before the game started, closer to the field then they were originally, plus now they get the 3x ticket prices back to them and now it looks like the Goddell has announced that those that lost their seats will ALSO get a free trip to the Superbowl in Indy next year. Oh, and the got to see their team win.

I guess it does pay to be a Packer fan.

Whaaaat

And Andre Reed doesn't make the Hall of Fame for the 6th time.

Seriously, why does god hate Buffalo football?

And Andre Reed doesn't make the Hall of Fame for the 6th time.

Seriously, why does god hate Buffalo football?

1) The fact Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas are in the Hall tells you it's not an "Anti Buffalo" stance Wink
2) Andre Reed is a compiler. I'm fine with him getting into the hall but he's hardly a no brainer. Consider:

*** # of times leading league in receptions (Zero)
*** # of times leading league in yards (Zero)
*** # of times leading league in TDs (Zero)
*** # of 1st Team All Pro selections (Zero)
*** 1,000-yard seasons (Four in 16 seasons)

Reed was a very good, but rarely elite, receiver.
