You're probably more aware of it than most.... I know you're a die-hard NFL fan like myself so obviously, I was just kidding. It was just amusing to see how quickly the conversation turned to fantasy football. This free agency period should be an entertaining free-for-all. I'm very curious to see what goes down and who ends up where by next week. Speaking of free agency... it just started a few minutes ago! Yep...Ravens making major cuts quickly, to a lot of big names. Word is they're after Nnamdi and needed to clear space. Derrick Mason, Todd Heap, Kelly Gregg and Willis McGahee...OUT

This is the first year where I don't care about any NFL news until my team's final depth chart is unveiled. Then I'll take a look. And then I'll tune in for the actual game. My appetite for supplemental football stuff (whether it be blogs or pre-show) has gone to zippy. Sacrilege, I know My free time and my internet time (whatever is left) just go to different things now. I'm proud I can still catch the games religously. (and some of my wife's Eagles games - my youngest son already knows the chant...)

It's my understanding that they want to bring back Heap and Mason at reduced deals, if they're willing.

I hope this resolution lights a fire under the NBA's collective asses to get something done.

Much, much, much different story (IMHO). 1) The players have legitimate alternatives to play elsewhere, whereas most NFL players wouldn't be able to make a living anywhere other than the league 2) The NFL/NFLPA dispute was about how to divide up a massively profitable and growing pie, the NBA is about how to fix a bloated and unprofitable structure with slowing global popularity 3) NFL owners have always acted in concert when it comes to the big picture, many of the NBA owners are dolts

i know everyone loves to hate on my cowboys but i am a little surprised on their early moves of releasing marc columbo & leonard davis. Sure the O-line has been a huge concern for last 2 seasons but now they gotta fix the problem in free agency because they sure as hell don't have the players in-house.
Oh yeah and they released marion barber too.

I am assuming this just happened. Also, those are not your Cowboys those are MY cowboys! Off to espn.com wtf is going on. I don't understand who we have to even fill in behind those guys. As old as our starters on the line were last year we didn't have anyone standing behind them. I am sad if Barber is really gone and hope he gets his legs back wherever he ends up but as for now Felix and Choice don't seem to be the answer.

Columbo and Barber were expected, Davis was more on the bubble. Cowboys need to give Doug Free a new deal, and want to be flexible in free agency, so they had to make those cuts. Columbo was horrendous of late, and Smith/Free are the new bookends, and while Davis had his moments, it's never hard to find a suitable interior lineman these days.

I agree this it's a very different situation. I'm just hoping that one bunch of billionaires will take into slight account not wanting to be shown up by another bunch of billionaires. I wouldn't say I'm optimistic.

Okay, so apparently we are trying to clear cap space to pick up Asomugah which I think would be fantastic as our CB situation is always one Terrance Newman ankle away from being short handed but since he is not an offensive lineman I still want to know what our plan is there. Also, as for Barber I forgot about Demarco Murray since the lockout has sucked out my enthusiasm for football over the last couple months but I still don't see him as a full time replacement. I hope I am wrong though.

Davis completely fell apart last year against Tennessee. I actually forgot how sad it was to watch the tread just completely fall off his tires but when you are that size and you get up around 33 things just are not the same. Let me just say that Montrae Holland is not the answer for replacing Davis though the guy barely knows which direction he is supposed to be going most of the time.

there are some good UFA interior lineman available they should be able to get on the cheap if they wanna go the veteran route otherwise they did draft 3 hoggies this year so maybe these picks pan out. Well Smith better, but who knows maybe there 4th & 7th will be able to give them some depth at the position.

I am sure Jerry Jones knows what he is doing. You don't win one playoff game in 13 years based on just luck!
