I say bring this the fuck on!

Also, Venom still has power to sell. I think people still keep their eyes open for this character. Add in Walking Dead's Tony Moore and X-Force's Remender, I think this book could stick around for a while.

Venom is normally one of the few characters I will avoid, but Marvel deserves a hat tip because the Remender/Moore combination is one of the few they've got up their sleeve that will not only get me to buy this, but to expect it to be THE AWESOME.  Hearts

Comics were definitely happier, breezier and more confident in their own strengths before Hollywood and the Internet turned the business of writing superhero stories into the production of low budget storyboards or, worse, into conformist, fruitless attempts to impress or entertain a small group of people who appear to hate comics and their creators. - Grant Morrison

I am a mix bag of emotions on this one.  I grew up when Venom was the king villain for Spider-man and resulted in series after series of limited series that got worse with each passing issue.  The effect was a villain that had lost its punch.  With this new creative team on a Venom book had my eye brows raised cause I remember Remender talking about a character that he wanted to make cool again.  I hope he and Moore can do it.  I am still in the wait and see camp, mainly cause I don't want to have to pay 3.99 an issue.  If its 2.99 for the second issue and onward then I am on board for this run.  Hopefully a long steady run without it touching any other books.

I was listening to the word balloon episode Moore was on today and he mentioned a Secret Marvel project with Remender. I open my RSS reader, and see the news. This book will be bought for the creative team alone.

I'm in. As for synthetic Venom Assault suits I think Frank Castle rocked something like that once before.

Btw is Gargan still Venom? I like him a lot in the role, but obviosly if Brock is back I would not mind.

Gargan pretending to be Spider-Man, heavily medicated, as a Dark Avenger was pure gold.

Possible ASM spoilers although Dan Slott has already said it in interviews...
Gargan won't be Venom anymore.
And I think he'll be back as the Scorpion.

I'm definitely in on the trades. I just finished Sea of Red and Strange Girl, so I'm on a Remender kick.

Did you see the Joe Q cover image on the iFanboy site? Looks like the reverse Liefeld boobed Captain America. Shameful

I have the same opinion that everyone else has, Venom as a character, doesn't interest me that much. But the creative team has peak my interest and I will probably get at least the first story arc.

Well assuming from the synopsis it's not going to be someone who has been Venom before. I haven't liked Venom before really but depending on the character I'd be interested.

Agreed. I have never had much interest in Venom and his infinite minis.

But this looks very cool. I am in for the first few issues sight unseen.

Says Remender, "“Venom mixes the high-octane action stuff we do in Fear Agent with stunning monster work from our Punisher run. It’s a perfect middle and we’re both tremendously excited for people to see what we’ve cooked up.”

good for Rick.  Based on the few interviews that I've heard and what I've read from him this sounds like something right up his alley.  Something both he and Tony can jump into with both feet and have a lot of fun with.  All the while, getting paid fat stacks of cash.  Hopefully anyway.
