Did anyone collect and/or play with these back in the mid to late 90s? I know they're not worth much more than their original retail price from a collector's stand point, and I know everyone loves the original 80s ones from a decade prior, but I thought this line was pretty cool.

Beefcake Skywalker?

Man, he was so roided out you couldn't fit him in an X-wing.

But, yea, I remember my brother collecting those figures and me pitting MY Luke Skywalker figure (which looked to have been made of melted wax) versus his defensive tackle Skywalker, and I lost all the time, mostly because of how weird it was to make those figures wrestle, it was like trying to stack ice cubes.

Allegedly they phased out the overly-muscular builds a few years into the line and made them more realistic.

Yep I still have a ton of them in our basement. I remember having to hunt for them, as some were hard to get. Dealers were hoarding, especially C3PO and Yoda. We went to a local Walmart like store when it opened one day and ran to the toy area. However someone already got there (still don't know how as we were in first), and got the one 3PO on the pegs. I asked if he saw any others, and said no. I think I said "crap",  but he handed it to me as he already got one.  Will never forget that, as it made my day, as I hunted for that for a while.

These really came out at the peak of all of the collecting stuff that was going to pay for your future children's college education and your retirement someday state of mind. These toys, Beanie Babies, comic books, etc. I was just a kid who loved Star Wars and still don't care that they're not worth anything, but I remember adults trashing the toy aisles as soon as they re-stocked the shelves.

I also remember going into comic shops and specialty stores and seeing these POTFII toys with insane markups, with the K-Mart MSRP stickers still on the package. But it seems like other than production errors or minor oddities, almost all of these are only worth their MSRP from 10-15 years ago.
