Hey all,
Some of you may have seen this, but Marvel has been fiddling with 99 cent titles on Comixology the last few weeks. First they were calling it Marvel Mondays and I got the Young Avengers series this way.
But, the last couple days they've just been having "one day only sales". Yesterday they were selling most of their Amazing Spider-Man BMD stories for 99 cents and today they've got the first couple arcs of Hickman's FF run for 99 cents.
I just know some of the folks on the board do talk about voting with your wallet and this is a chance to do that. I'm sure that Marvel is doing this as an experiment to see what happens to sales at 99 cents versus $1.99.
And, having Hickman's FF digitally where the colors are so much prettier is not a bad thing either.

These sales are clearly Marvel testing the waters. Although the number of titles are limited, I wouldn't mind one day sales on individual titles every so often because it encourages checking out new series.

Is this the run with... • Spidey fights Vulture in front of the kid in a wheelchair. • Venom's symbiote is auctioned. • Chameleon says he is gay and admits to Peter that he loves him. I loved all those stories. the Tiki

Hats off to Marvel on these .99 sales--definitely a move those IPAD owning fans who whine about digital price points should support with their dollar!!! Really hope DC responds as well--marvel definitely deserves some credit for this (digital unlimited on marvel.com is also an incredible deal--read all of Bendis/bru dardevil and first 100 issues of ultimate spiderman and thousadns more books ALL for a few bucks a month??)

That's the one!
Thanks, wasn't sure if I was confusing some one else's stories with his. I REALLY liked his run a bunch. I really don't think his Spidey run gets as much credit as it deserves. Two things working against him was that 1) It didn't happen in ASM instead of another Spidey Title (I know, it's silly) 2) IIRC this came out at the same time JMS's infamous/famous ASM run and Millar's work didn't seem to get the press it deserved. The Tiki

Very strong run of Spider-man. The manager at my comic shop recommended this run and I bet it in trades. Anyone that hasn't read this should pick this up on comixology.

sales are great. but lets not get super giddy, when in reality theyve just marked up digital comics to mark them down. .99 is what the comics should be. the 1.99 price point is just a inflated price to justify comic companies to put their toes in the water while limiting risk. its only been 9 months since the ipad has been released( the real catalyst of the digital comic boom) and at some point there will have to be a price war that will settle the price to .99 the marvel knights was great i think it changed to spectacular somewhere in the middle. at that time every spiderman book seemed to have him with a different job and doing something different. i dont think it was the mk spiderman but one of those books had some awsome hubert ramos work.

That run is 12 issues of Dodson and Cho art, worth buying for the pretty pictures alone.

Bought the entire House of M miniseries for .99 an issue last "marvel monday"--$8 bucks for a digital version of that trade is a great deal in my book. Also, that event was actually a lot better than I remembered it. Definitely not the best, but I enjoyed reading a x-men/avengers event after the last few years have seen those two corners of the marvel U very seperated from one another (besides wolvie being all over the avengers obviously) Anyways, the .99 price point is definitely right. Anyone who supports it should be BUYING these .99 issues--it's the only way the big two will choose to adobt that price point folks (btw--IDW ap sells most issues for .99, G.I. Joe and Locke and Key, bump those sales up while you're at it!)

This week (today only) the first 8 issues of Morrison's New X-Men run are .99 each for Marvel's .99 mondays promotion of comixology/marvel ap. HAve those of you with IPAD's been taking advantage of these monday promotions? I've never read Morrison's New X-Men so I'm particularly excited this week. If you believe in the .99 price point for digital issues, supporting these monday deals with your dollar is the best way to prove it and will likely bring the competition to offer similar deals too. WHat do you guys think about this promotion every monday? Marvel really does seem to be pushing it pretty hard. You think it's working out well for them?

You're in for a treat if you've never read it. It's a great take on the X-Men that only Morrison can provide. In my experience though, you'll either love it or hate it. It's a really good idea. Kind of like a 50 cent bin at an LCS.
