Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone read the first two issues of Batman Inc.?

Batman is my fave among superheroes and I was intrigued at the premise.
But I gotta say, after two issues I am not feeling this. At all. Am I alone here?
I'm assuming there is a slow build up to whatever Bruce has planned, but with all the titles out
in the Batman universe, I gotta say this one disappoints me the most (so far).

I'm not sure if it's because Morrisson is trying to make me care about these other Batmen that I don't
particularly care for right off the bat? I mean, I'm still getting used to the idea that there are two Batmen with Bruce and Dick. Maybe it's because of the hype and my expectations were too high?
It's weird because I was hooked on his Batman & Robin run from issue 1 but these two issues are making me seriously considering dropping this title altogether.

Anyone else feel the same, or did anyone really enjoy it?

I'm enjoying it so far. I like the fact Morrison bought Lord Death Man from the Bat Manga world to the DCU and I like the back and forth between Bruce and Selina.

Personally, I'm disappointed. I was hoping he'd form an LLC instead.    Cheesy

Honestly - it is just OK to me so far.  Liking some of the small nods - such as the tentacle monster poster in the shop- but it just seems to be lacking something.

Maybe he needs to travel around with Damian.

This is the only mainstream comic I am buying. It is awesome. I wish more comics had two issue arcs.

I think it's the best mainstream comic on the stands and it's a good change up from the same ole' Batman standing on a roof in Gotham talking about how his war must continue or whatever.  It's outrageous and over the top which I love. Yanick Paquette is KILLING on the art.  Selina is slinking around penthouse apartments giving Bruce the ole' "back scratch".   I mean, Lord Death Man built a trap for Mr. Unknown that involved FLOODING THE FLOOR BENEATH HIS APARTMENT TO PUT A GIANT OCTOPUS IN IT!  That's my kind of comics.

I kinda like it.  It's something new.  Although I do think the idea of a "Batman of Africa" or "Batman of France" is kind silly.  Really....One dude for a who country/continent?  Smiley

Totally agree with this.

I just don't see this series lasting more than 2 years.

Mentioned it on the show briefly last night. LOVING it, it's exactly what I was hoping for. A new twist on a very well worn trope (Batman) with straightforward storytelling from one of my favorite writers. Thought the first issue was solid and the second one was all the better.

I should be getting it in my DCBS box today, and I expect to love it. As of yesterday, thanks to Mycomicshop, I was able to finally track down the missing links in my morrison bat run, and I plan to read it beginning with Batman and Son, all the way through (including Final Crisis) to Batman Inc 1 this weekend. Does anyone have a link to a prefered reading order that is in depth? I keep coming up with ones that are about 5 months old or so.

I did think that the new Finch book (Dark Knight) seemed at odds with the new direction. It seemed a bit of a throwback.

it's fun, it's quick and it isn't over written nor pretentious. and it's easy to jump into. I likes it, even with Catwoman who to be honest I'm not that fond of. Damn she gotta big ol booty in this book!

Was skeptical coming in; then opened the first pages and saw Mr. Unknown tied up with his hands melted off. I got a big grin and thought, "Why did I ever doubt Morrison?"

The whole Batman Inc concept isn't as appealing as the Barbatos/Dr. Hurt stuff in Batman and Robin but at this point I'm trusting Morrison to keep giving me really good and fresh Batman stories. The guy keeps coming up with new ideas! Whether I love them at first or not at least he's not giving us ANOTHER Riddler or [fill in popular Batman rogue here] story (which you can find in the other Batman books). And I love that Catwoman is finally playing a role.

I know he's not everyone's cup of tea but for me Morrison has proven himself with Batman and I'll buy his entire run.

BTW...did anyone else find it weird that Bruce put Lord Death Man in a space capsule prison? Uh...when the hell did he get those? And why isn't Joker, Riddler, Scarecrow, Black Mask, Penguin, Hush, and Catgirl in one of them?

Agreed. I guess "The Dark Knight" is like Bruce's new Detective Comics now.
