Oh!  I somehow thought there was some kind of adaptive equipment that did you the actual damage.

Well, they had a little spring-loaded feature that opens them back up after being squeezed shut, so they were adaptive scissors....that counts!

Krazy Glue isn't toxic at all to open wounds?

I figured I could take a tiny amount around the edges, that's all it took (after all, I've been training my body to deal with toxins for a long time)...the thumb flap took more, but it somehow wasn't a bleeder...

...are you gonna make me fill out an incident report? Wink

As long as you promise not to open a workman's comp case.  Tongue

In about 2 weeks, they're barely gonna have that in this here state of NY.

....at least we'll always have John Workman, and his letters on Simonson's Thor run! Thumbs Up

I have been saving this episode for my friday morning commute.  It has taken all my will-power but I think I can do it and there is no better way to survive a Friday.

To bring up an annoying topic that only I have been carping on about.  I wanted to let the Marvel Noisettes know that I haven't dropped my burning desire for a Marvel Noise t-shirt.  Paging Dave K.  Paging Dave K.

I have no artistic skill at all but I am so desparate that even I threw something together.  I won't embarass myself by telling you how long I worked on this but here is an idea.  I am very nervous considering that for the 11 O'clock logo design they had professional quality logos but this is too important to let vanity get in the way.

Obviously we would need the King's blessing (as I am incorporating his avatar into this design, but his royal decree would be required on any design).  Maybe also drop in a reference to being part of the deliberate Noise network.  I imagine that we would also seek leave of Mr. Derek Cowart's permission.  I know that no one asked but I am going to keep on this until I am ignored sufficiently.

Click the spoiler at your own peril.

Sort of a basic logo with headphones around it, website url and any catchphrase (or leave it as "insert catchphrase")  Maybe Bring Back Paste Pot Pete.

I forgot to say: Great idea and design!
......and with David being a recognizeable cartoon character and all, a copyrighted Marvel character image isn't needed.....brilliant!

......but, I'm guessing even using the name 'Marvel' would be a problem for somebody somewhere. Thinking

I am not afraid of some pencil-pusher coming at me over Marvel.  They should have chosen a unique trademark name.  There is no consumer confusion at all.  I mean come on, it is purely coincidental that the podcast is called Marvel Noise and there is a Marvel Comics company.

How about this for an offer.  If some talented person designs a tee shirt that gets approved, then I will buy them a tee-shirt from the Marvel Noise Zazzle store with that design1.

Come on people.  This is our chance to seize the day.  It is our time.  It is our place.  They will not defeat this House of Ideas.

1Some restrictions may apply.  Limited to 1 tee-shirt per winning entry.  Void where prohibited.  Offer subject to withdrawal without notice.  Not valid outside of the Milky Way galaxy.  Submission of entry is deemed admission by submitor of the fact that I am generally speaking an alright guy.  Prize entry has no cash value but enormous sentimental value.  Winner is subject to, and wholly liable for all applicable taxes including those imposed by Marvel Noise, The Deliberate Noise Network, and any authorized jurisdication.  Parties jointly agree that the provisions of the U.C.C. while good intentioned seemed silly and therefore are not applicable.  Further parties recognize that there is no real consideration except the consideration that should exist in a polite society.  Subject to the approval of King DAP, Overlord and Master of all He Surveys.  Parties state their intention that there are no third party beneficiaries intended because we only care about ourselves.  The offer and any subsequent acceptance are not assignable.  Offeror admits that he frequently used to confuse the Parol Evidence Rule with something from criminal procedure.  Offeror further disclaims all express and implied warranties including those granted by the Magnuson-Moss federal warranty regarding world's strongest man.  Bring back Paste Pott Pete.  Offeror wanted to insert a force majeure clause but thought it made him sound pretentious using a foreign language.  Offeror also wonders why you are still reading this?  You rock and so does Marvel Noise.

Damn.  I'm drawing a blank at even remembering the end of New Avengers #7.  I recall Strange waking up from his nap and the hiring of the Dani's nanny...

Really? I thought New Avengers #7 was one of the best single issues of a Marvel book I've read in ages. I was smiling ear to ear from the start to the finish. It really had me giddy.

Again, please don't misunderstand: I dig these kind of character moments and enjoyed the read, too, until it ended and I realized it fell short of containing all the elements that a Marvel Super-Hero comic book usually has.  We've seen writers use all kinds of ways of adding a little action into a 22 page book, and whether cliched or not, for a $4 book containing a bunch of super-heroes, it would be cool to see them doing something heroic or using their powers or the like......does that make sense?

It stood out particularly on this book to me given Bendis' comments about how tortured and thoughtful he is regarding trying to make sure he does all he can on his end to make the $4 books 'worth' it......and it seemed strangely ironic that this issue's content is exactly what Bendis' critics (usually unfairly) complain his work has too much of.

I've always found those moments where we step back from the action and get a window into the other dynamics of the team and their personal lives a core tenet of Marvel. The X-men would always do that with Byrne/Claremont, and then would vault back into another adventure for awhile. I think Bendis' New Avengers arc was action packed and this was a time-tested transition issue.

All I know is that I actually would've singled out this particular issue as one of Bendis' best in ages on 11OC had we not had the 11O'Closcars to talk about. Out of the 30-40 comics i got that week, it was one of the few that stuck with me.

I just finished it ... because I'm all slow with the uptake and whatnot.  It took The Raker's Dozen to get me off my arse and see the fuss.

Yeah, no, I loved it.  That's the dialogue that makes me like Bendis so much.  There've been times in the past few years where the superhero action was present and I didn't even care because the dialogue was so witty and made me laugh aloud. Because I'm so keen on dialogue, you see. Being all writery and stuff.

But the 2nd treat for me is that art. Man o man?!! That is some Adam Hughes/Alan Davisy/Kevin Maguirish type of good cotdamn stuff right there!!  Wolverine's face at the "How did I get thrown under the bus?"  That yummy mocha baby of Luke & Jessica's. Cute-ass Squirrel Girl. Handsome-ass Stephen
Andreski
Strange.  Spidey's perfectly-shaped head. Wolverine's gruff "Shh...he's on a roll" face. Lea Thompson making a guest-appearance. And cool details.  The sun beaming through the clouds. Flocks of birds. And I love that the Avengers Mansion is in the middle of Central Park, and not on the avenue (judging by the background buildings' angles.)

I guess I thought those faces were dynamic enough to engage me through a fightless issue.

Probably what was missing the most for ME was the color green.  The team always looked so much better when the Vision was on it.

I think I can both wholeheartedly agree and maintain my position on this one!

Even those transition issues of Uncanny (which I thoroughly enjoyed) had a scene with some Danger Room training, or Colossus's strength levels being tested, or some other type of quick action sequence.

Even the first appearance of Vindicator only occurred in the last few pages of an otherwise transition/character issue

...and coming back from the savage land and needing to move the subplots and character moments along gave us a few pages of Prof X battling the Shadow King, who was a one-off villain for over a decade

And, of course, the lead-in to the Proteus saga really had no big action but still had Moira discovering the escape, Beast and Nightcrawler rumbling a bit, and Phoenix's power levels being examined, all 'super-hero-y'/sci-fi/adventure type stuff, even in a transition issue.

As much as I liked New Avengers #7, it was still noticeable having no action/adventure/super-powers being displayed, etc., in a premier $4 top-of-the-line book whose writer is usually often wrongly criticized for this exact thing to actually go ahead and do just that.

I'm really not being a hater here, it just was my thought/observation upon finishing the comic

For truth.

To me this was so much different than the Bendis issues where the whole team was huddled in a room watching the news unfold and we were "treated" to 9 panel grids of each character's profile talking about said news. THAT is where I think Bendis got a little far afield and into dialog. But this issue? This was GOODNESS, through and through.

Agreed, but it was missing something Marvel comics usually have every issue, so that was noticeable.

.............I guess I thought those faces were dynamic enough to engage me through a fightless issue.

Agreed again!  I thought the art has been fantastic.  ....and I, too, was engaged the whole issue.....I'm okay with a fightless issue, just surprising they'd do it here with this book at this price point with this writer who usually goes out of his way to not be what his critics claim.  I'm all growed-up and could go for a whole series of Bendis writing these types of character moments....but find it worth commenting on in this case  Whaaaat

I enjoyed the issue, even from the preview we were shown before it hit the stands (Renee even read the first few pages because of the conversation between Luke and Damage, Inc. adjuster and I showed her the two-page spread of potential nannies).  It was a real good issue, I was just forgetting Wong showing up even though he had one of the best lines of the book.

We had a delayed opening today, so it wasn't that bad.  Might be fun trying to get up the street to our driveway later, but the highway roads were fine.

Not looking forward to next week, that's for sure.

Hey, Wood, if you happen to check back here, I'm curious as to what you thought of Wade Wilson's War (if you read it) given you're a Deadpool fan.  I'm not a regular reader but pick up arcs and specials now and then if they intrigue me and couldn't pass up interior Pearson work on this limited series!
