it's not WTF, but Adam Carolla was recently on Pete Holmes' "You Made it Weird" and it was VERY WTF-ish, as the show tends to be.  Im not usually a fan of Carolla, as him on his own show tends to annoy me, but on Pete's show the conversation they had was so enthralling and sincere.
I figured anyone who likes Marc's type of shows would love this as well.

I'm not a huge Carolla fan, I check him out occasionally. But I appreciate that he doesn't change for anyone. A buddy of mine used to work for him and said he doesn't turn it on or off, it's not an act. What you see is what you get. You may not like what you are getting, but it's sincere.

Thanks for the heads up.  I like both WTF and the Adam Carolla show.  I've only tried one episode of YMIW, the one with Marc Maron as the guest, and I did not care for the host at all.  I'll give it another shot with this one.

Pete Holmes' stuff strikes me a lot like Maron's... you either love it or hate it.  Personally I love his comedy

Craig Ferguson on WTF, bout to start listening now.  Based on other interviews/conversations i've heard with ferguson outside of his late night show, this should be an interesting descent down his past... tinged with good scottish humor.  Cheesy

that was a great episode.

i can't exactly pinpoint why but whenever i hear Craig just talking straight up about life and his past, he's one of the few guys who actually makes me feel like "it'll be ok".

Comics were definitely happier, breezier and more confident in their own strengths before Hollywood and the Internet turned the business of writing superhero stories into the production of low budget storyboards or, worse, into conformist, fruitless attempts to impress or entertain a small group of people who appear to hate comics and their creators. - Grant Morrison

dudes got some serious charisma, especially in a conversation where he's not censoring anything.

I don't watch his show that often, but everytime I stumble upon Craig Ferguson I am happy I did. I agree, the guy is down to earth and pretty funny without trying to hard.

Fuck, Marc needs to get Billy Connely on the show.

Hearing Maron say "You made me reevaluate Springsteen and Thin Lizzy" to the Hold Steady guy made me roll my eyes. Nothing gets under my skin more then "Oh I'll start liking these guys because this hip band says it's okay."

I just listened to the Michael Keaton episode.  Wonderful.  I wished it would have went on for another 2 hours.  Yes

I really went supernova with WTF. After it being recommended to me by Tim and others, I started listening and felt like I had unearthed a new treasure. But I found myself quickly listening to fewer and fewer episodes, and have now unsubscribed to the show entirely.

I feel similarly to WTF as I do to Hardwick and Nerdist...they both have a great collection of interviews and I'm genuinely interested in hearing what most of their guests have to say. BUT...I find the hosts themselves to be nearly intolerable.  I just don't vibe with Maron AT ALL. He strikes me as a guy I would detest spending three minutes with in "real life."

I don't have a dislike of the hosts, but they can both be grating. I find the best eps are the guests that are a little intimidating to the hosts. I still sub to both but pick and choose which eps to listen to.

Jason, I recommend Mohr Stories if you haven't checked it out already. A bit morning showish but lots of fun eps to choose from.

I absolutely feel the same way.

That said, I'm going to give his IFC show a watch.

Yeah. Being a stand up nerd meant WTF was a must listen for a while... then Marc transitioned into trying to be Charlie Rose and it's just not clicking.

That being said the Keaton ep is worth a listen.

I still dig it, and listen to every episode.  I could do without the non-comedian episodes for the most part, but I really dig the in-depth interviews with comics.  The Keaton episode was phenomenal.

I skip past the first ten minutes.  Not the biggest fan of Maron himself.  He's all right (no nothing of his standup) but I find his disconnect with the midwest amusing.

Like when he says stuff like "You lived near a farm?  They still do that there?  So you did the whole going-to-a-mall thing when you were a kid?  You're telling me you're the type of guy who had his grandparents over for Christmas?  They got your presents and stuff?  You did that?"
