thanks dudes, this will actually be time #3 seeing maiden for me, i'm pretty excited as this year is the anniversary tour of the Maiden England video, which is from the Seventh Son tour so they're going to be playing a lot of those songs.  that record has a lot of nostalgia for me because that was actually the first maiden album i ever owned, i got it on cassette from a goodwill!

My first experience with Maiden was from my Dad. Having a father that spent his teens in the 70s has it's perks. After my parents split my brother and I would spend every other weekend with him, as well as every thursday for some reason. Before he went to work on Friday mornings he would drop us off at my mom's house at 6 am in the morning. Many a morning's soundtrack was his cassette copy of Piece of Mind. By the age of 11 or so I knew every word to the Trooper.

Lucero is playing the State Theater in St Pete next Friday (5/25).  I will have to get out of the cave and go.

Comics were definitely happier, breezier and more confident in their own strengths before Hollywood and the Internet turned the business of writing superhero stories into the production of low budget storyboards or, worse, into conformist, fruitless attempts to impress or entertain a small group of people who appear to hate comics and their creators. - Grant Morrison

Jealous.  They aren't playing N.C. until the end of June.  I haven't seen the full Lucero in a couple of years.  I saw Ben Nichols with the Revival Tour and then him touring for his solo album.  Have you heard about this?

Well, I was going to see Van Halen this summer in Columbus, but they just 'postponed' their summer dates. I was so pumped for it. I even changed hotel reservations for the family vacation so I could make it. Very bummed now because I have a feeling they won't be making up these dates.

My husband just went to St. Vincent in Tulsa last week.

We're hitting the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago in July.

I don't think I have any concerts lined up for the foreseeable future.....(although I suspect the roomie MIGHT be surprising me with Madonna tickets (DON'T hate!) for my birthday in September.)

No hate from me.  Whether you like the music or not,
she puts on an amazing stage show.

Also, given the 3-figure price of the tickets, that's one damn nice gift.

He and I are more family than friends. Been living together for almost 11 years now. I sent him and his bf to Vegas for his birthday one year. We like trying to one-up each other on gifts.....and it's fun to be on the receiving end when it's your turn....LOL

Some real good stuff.  One of the encores the first night was "In the City" - and I didn't see that coming at all.  The full band acoustic take on "Out of the Sinking" was amazing.

Hell, this might be the third time I've seen them since posting around here. 5th or sixth in the long run. Tonight, at the Regency Ballroom in gorgeous San Francisco California (and 3 blocks from my home) The mighty MOGWAI.

Blondie and DEVO at weird location (The Green Iguana) in Sept.  It is a moral imperative that I see this show.

Just saw Jackyl last Friday night. It took two days for my ears to stop ringing. They played a little bar right up the road from me.  They might not have had a "hit" in a long time but it was one hell of a rock n roll show.

Next concert will be The Scorpions and Tesla. I could care less about the Scorpions, its all about Tesla for me!

Still giddy today after seeing the Beach Boys in Camden last night.  I doubt I'll be listening to anything else for the next day or two.
