Our dreams of being the next Madame Cleo...um, trio, dashed, we talk instead about what actually happened in the book in this final installment of The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter.  We'll miss Singer, Mick, Biffette and the rest (Dave was so upset he could barely speak), but no time for grief: it's on to the meta-insanity of The Third Policeman, by Flann O'Brien.  Sort of...it's complicated.

We hope you'll join us in two weeks for that.  Bring your bicycle.

Ahhh, memories. I want to make one, but I've never bought Southern Comfort before. I'm a little scared.  Huh?

SoCo is pretty good, especially as a mixer. As a Southern boy, it's sorta required drinking every so often... it's kinda like a sweet, slightly spicey whiskey. It's fairly potent, though (especially if you mix it with rum).

The drink sounds like it'd be overly sweet, but the rum and ice balance the other stuff out well.

I would also recommend it as a soporific.  Wink

Even moreso than most booze! I always have to drink a little bit to shut up the voices in my head so I can go to bed, but that one was like a morphine drip.  Huh?

I guess I associate it with Joplin (unfortunately, not Scott) and rookie drinkers becoming messes (when they slurringly call it Suthrin Comfrit). I'll give it a try.
