Started this book this weekend, and I made it through Part One of the book. I really enjoy it, especially the magic system, its unique, a little different, and there isn't a sense of realism to the system, but I quite enjoy how it fits and how it works.

ooh! good for you! to tell you the truth, i wasn't expecting much (just going by the back cover synopsis and cover art), but i ended up loving the series. i'm kinda bummed sanderson just left it to do other books. not counting way of kings, this series is ripe for a new volume.

yeah, the magic thing is typical of sanderson. its so goddam well thought out, so logical... its so COOL. and the thing is, it even gets MORE impressive. he comes up with new imaginative applications for the magic that are so damn cool. kinda reminds me of reading the x-men.

i love the characters. and the action is well told and so frikkin' brutal. the twists and turns are genuinely surprising. all in all, it goes up in my personal "best books i've read list".

ps- next, read brent week's night angel trilogy. its tackles similar themes with mistborn. by chance i read both around the same time. its also very, very, verrrry good. also in my "best books" list.

I'm reading Warbreaker right now, and then I'm going to jump back into the Mistborn trilogy and hit up the last two novels. I absolutely loved the first one, and didn't expect the ending of the book to be the way it was. It really threw me for a loop

The endings of the next two are just about the same, throwing you for a loop that is.
