The entire run is available to read on Marvel's digital unlimited service through marvel.com. I read it all there last year. I defintiely still want to own the work in print eventually but for those who want to read it who are on a budget, that is—by far—the most affordable way to do so. And the art looks absolutely stunning on my computer screen.

The selling point for me on this one is the Steve Oliff recoloring job. I'm really curious to see if he tries to recreate the original colors or if he goes hogwild and does his own thing.

I'll be sitting on my porch waiting for my monthly DCBS box to arrive with this substantial stock of stunning sequential art (thank you, thesaurus.com). I just hope it doesn't rain too much between now and the end of the month.

Looking at it right now...Oliff doesn't do a straight-up recreation of the original colors, he definitely makes it his own, but I wouldn't describe it as hogwild. It's not crazily over-done modern coloring. But this thing is a work of beauty. And Huge! You have to be worthy just to lift it!

Here's the book with a Blu-ray for some scale... And, sorry, no scanner handy, but a couple of quick shots that can maybe give some idea of the color work... OMNIBUS.... DROP.

This thing is loaded. In addition to the actual issues, there are also repos of the pencils for the OHOTMU entries, promotional material, pin-ups, commisions, the into Simonson wrote for the 1989 trade paperback, even early versions of panels Walt re-drew for the final comic pages.

Cool link, Bryan.....reminds me, though, of one of my complaints about Walt's run/designs.....he drew the worst Hela....how do you mess up/understate that awesome Kirby design?

That's why I bought it (other than it being oversized etc). I think Oliff will bring a whole new experience to Simonson's run. Can't wait!
