I've had this on back order with Amazon UK since Feb. I know it was scheduled for a march release but it's still not in stock. Does anyone know where this is or when it's due?

Thank you

Thanks for replying. I can see that there are plenty of US copies on offer. Maybe I'll cancel my order with Amazon and get an import. I'd hate to miss out on this one and don't expect it to be in stock for long.

i think i saw it on ifanboy's shipping list for this week.  so the us customers should probably be getting them any day, but i don't know how much later UK folks typically get their books.

Thank you. I've just been on Amazon.com and ordered it from there. Even with shipping I've saved about £6.  Thumbs Up

Usually the same day as the US from the LCS. Amazon.co.uk must have a different distributor as the shipping dates are often months later. Either that or they're just sekling Amazon.com overstock.

It's on my Amazon wishlist and my birthday is on April 14th.

If that book is not on the table next to a birthday cake I'm getting a new family.

I'm thinking that I may need to rent a handtruck to get this thing out of the LCS and into my car.

Seriously though, I may have to leave a few things at the store until next week to ensure that this comes home with me.  I've wanted to read the run for quite a while now and couldn't pass on this massive tome.

How long until this one sells out? I think it will go for big money by the time the Thor film is released.

I wish it was 2 volumes at half the price each....I can't imagine being able to open this thing anywhere close to flat, which means looking at bulging pages distorting the art.  As much as I love this material and want to see how the modern coloring turned out, I don't think it's a functional size.....I look forward to hear from you guys when it comes out tomorrow.

I will post some picture of it.

That'd be cool! Thumbs Up

I have the original issues (with the dotted coloring), the first Visionaries TPB (with the dotted coloring), and all the volumes of the second printed TPB's with the updated, flat coloring......hard to plunk down for yet another version, despite the promise of 'modern coloring', y'know? ....although I'm curious, of course! Cool

Seems like the omnibuses stay in print for at least a year before we start seeing any OOP price hikes (a'la the Bendis Daredevil) and most of them stay in print no problem.

Good parallel would be the Iron Man omnibuses which were both in print well past the release of the Iron Man movies.  Vol 1 came out in 2008, and just started drying up in the last 6months, and Volume 2 (less than a year old) is still readily available.

I could see this Omnibus selling a lot faster than the Iron Man one though. There is a lot more love and hype going around for this book than for the previous.

Perhaps, but Walt's Thor run has also been reprinted in the Thor Visionaries series of collected editions, and you can track down the issues with relative ease. I own two complete sets of the issues (one off the shelves as it was coming out, another via eBay with plans to eventually bind it) and paid very little premium for them.

 Agree

walt's run is very popular, but INCREDIBLY easy to acquire.  but this might get some attention from people that are newly interested in thor and would never bother to even do back issue scouring in stores or online.  there is something to be said for having it all in one place.

Might just be my small group of friends who readvcomics, but I just feel like everyone is jumping on this. I keep staring at it on amazon but not pulling the trigger so I am probably pessimistic as is. There are only 5 new for 73$ and somehow one used for 117$. I never understand how on amazon some people try to sell used copies of a book for absurd mounts of money.
