Serious question for Vince.

You mentioned you lost interest in a book easily because of a mystery during your discussion on I Zombie.  So how then did you manage to stay with Red Hulk for 2 years?

Serious question for Vince.

Not trying to answer for Vince or anything but I feel the same way about comic books (or even tv shows) that start off teasing some grand mystery and its usually a turn off for me.

UNLESS...

There's something else about the comic book that I really enjoy, something which makes the mystery seem slightly less important. If I can have fun with the journey and put aside having to know what the final destination/answer to everything is then its all good. Which is what happened to be with Red Hulk. I was having too much fun so it didn't matter all that much to me who he was, I knew I'll find out eventually.

Can't wait to get my Finder trade in the mail! I've only seen McNeil's art in Queen and Country, but I loved it.  Hearts

Wolverine's real name is something other than Logan? Not in my world, man.

Does Wolverine know about the events in Origin?  I thought that was reader knowledge and not character knowledge.

Picked up Butcher Baker 1-2.  Finished 1, and it's the shit.

Huh? Wolverine's origin has extended far beyond "Origin." He's spent the better part of the last six or seven years learning all about his history, including his ties to the Hudsons, his offspring, and the fact that Romulus has been in control of his life for most of it.

I dip in and out of Wolverine.  Whenever I read it he's cutting up ninjas or banging some hot chick.  Anyway, thanks for the knowledge. Thumbs Up

Remember during Morrison's run when Wolverine says "I remember everything"? I took it as the literal meaning back then, like he really remembered EVERYTHING Tongue

That Four Star app sounds fantastic.  We're getting an iPad soon to celebrate my wife's new job, and I had already planned on getting the app, but now I am that much more excited for it.  Thumbs Up

The hell you clappin' for?  Shifty Eyes

Obviously, there are instances when my personal rules are bent. Red Hulk was one of those.

Besides, you'd have to be a fucking robot to live by the same rigid code day in and out.

Heh, Vince didn't like my teasing on this one.  Ahem. I think the real answer to the dichotomy is that the Red Hulks appeal wasn't the mystery, at least for Vince, but the journey.  It really didn't matter so much to Vince WHO Rulk was because the stories as we went along were entertaining for other reasons.  I think Vince really doesn't mind mysteries...if he did he wouldn't love Twin Peaks, The X Files, or UFO lore. I think Vince doesn't like straightforward crime or procedural mysteries where the MAIN hook is who dunnit.

Just because I don't care for a certain genre doesn't mean I don't appreciate some examples of same. Not a big fan of the baseball, but I'll always watch A League of Their Own or Bad News Bears whenever they're on. Don't like disco, but I find something special in the stuff the Bee Gees did for Saturday Night Fever. ...and on and on. Our personal tastes don't have to be exclusive, do they?

It wasn't Morrison's run that did it. House of M gave wolverine his memories back. Since his great wish was to remember which is why when the new reality was created he knew everything and was the only one that knew everything was messed up. He has since known his entire past. Until they decide to make him forget all over again.

Yeah Andy, I think about Geena Davis in some great movies...and then Cutthroat Island pops into my head and destroys any and all Geena Davis love that I once had.   Shifty Eyes  Her ex-husband (Renny Harlin) sure knows how to torpedo a career.

ABBA definitely   Hearts  I feel like I'm a "closet" Australian.
