this means you should jump off of all those titles mentioned now.  due to a rebooting deadline a lot of those series are going to be rushed to the finish in the typical DC style of a last issue drawn and inked by 40 different artists.

The renumbering will last until one of them hits a 900 or 1000.

Damn that avatar.  Drool

I see it as a chance for some real creativity, unencumbered by decades of DCU history. The past is their prison. Wipe the damn slate and start over. Wh...where do I st...start reading Legion? Right here at #1, my good man!

I'm half inclined to believe that Rich's source is loopy and DC would never consider enacting a plan this broad in scope. Hope I'm wrong. It's EXCITING.

Just because they are renumbering doesn't mean the world is staring over again does it? All new origins, no history? That would be wack!

The way I read it is just like all the Avengers started with a new #1 all the DCU books will do the same.

If I thought it would be a true reboot and things wouldn't just revert back sooner or later I'd be much more excited.

Is this going to be Geoff Johns ultimate "fix"?  He's "fixed" everyone else so far, why not fix the entire DCU.

Vince, you're spot on about the past being their inescapable prison. I'm so damn sick of reading DC stories/events that are about "fixing" continuity and explaining stuff that can't be explained because other writers ignored DC history. Just tell some good stories with that vast library of characters and stop wasting our time telling stories fixing imaginary history! Hoping that it will be a true reboot, I know I'd try to hop on some titles if they do it.

It's almost unheard of!!

As long as you dismiss Crisis on Infinite Earths, Zero Hour, the Five Years Later and Rebooted Legion, to some degree the post-Infinite Crisis One Year Later...

Are you being sarcastic?  DC does this shit constantly and it never lasts past their next editorial meeting.
