So I went through the books to see which ones I am gonna pick up or at least try out. I have got 22 books. Not quite the the 40 DC books I picked up this month, but that's the way things go. I am really excited about a lot of the books announced and I am hoping that there will not be any crossovers for at least a year. I hope that these will be more issue focused books with shorter story arcs. The books in bold are already on the bubble and may not get picked up after issue one. Some of these books that could be awesome if the writing is good. Blackhawks seems like DC's own GI JOE to me (which would be awesome!), while Azzarello on Wonder Woman could be amazing (but I haven't really dug his DC offerings outside of Vertigo). I will also be picking up Batman for the first time ever ( I have purchased Detective a few times in the past).  Aquaman is character that I really don't care for all that much, but I do love Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis.  I really wish Johns was still on Flash (might be in the minority on that one).

I am over the books that aren't on the 52 list. But I will be sending a few letters voicing my opinions on the subject.

I am so happy to see that Legion didn't get 5booted and that Levits is there. But I don't think that DC has many options with that property considering how it has been rest more times than my old NES. Any major shake up at this point would make the property more divisive to fans.

I think I am going to be done with Superman for a time. I am just not excited about any of the books or the new teams. (And My Superman wears his underwear on the Outside.) Thumbs Up

1. JLA
2. JLI
3. Flash
4. Green Lantern
5. GL Corp
6. GL: New Guardians
7. Red Lanterns
8. Aquaman
9. DCUP: Deadman
10. Blackhawks
11. AllStar Western
12. Batman
13. Batwoman
14. Legion of Super Heroes
15. Legion LOST
16. Swamp Thing
17. Animal Man
18. Demon
19. JLA Dark
20. Frankenstein
21. Stormwatch
22. Blue Beetle

i'm all for giving supes a modern look, but this is their version of "modern"? (i'm referring to the design and not the art) it looks very 90's. gives him an unnecessary armored look. not for nothin', but i like the old costume better.

-mike

agreed. i say give him a timeless, classic look. Not electric blue or long haired or flannel & combat boots (ok i made that one up). The minute you tie it to the fashion of the day, you date it. Best example ever is the original Star Wars, bell bottoms in space!! (part of its charm now, for me at least)

Again this is just one guys opinion i know alot of people aesthetically love the 90s pouches & belts, bright primary colours of the 80's or the limited colour palette of the 70's etc...

there are a lot of people that hate his old costume.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say they hate Superman's outfit.  Ever.

I think it was more personal for Hitler.

Or he could have been a dick.

Yeah, still doesn't mean I've ever heard someone say it.

The Master DcnU thread on the ComicBookPage forum has been updated with the full official solicit text, prices, page counts & ship dates (it already had the pictures before the update, but should be full one-stop-shopping for the 52 new titles now):

My hope for our "new" Superman...

...make him less invulnerable.  He needs another weakness besides Kryptonite & magic, or at least skew how these weaknesses are defined.  This is the distinct advantage so many other comic characters have over Supes when it comes to relating to him as the protagonist.
