My favorite Francavilla work is Sorrow with Rick Remender. That book is all kinds of Awesome Sauce. Thumbs Up

Karma.  I didn't know about this.  A book combining two of my favorites.  Added to shopping cart.

My random thought earlier today: I wonder if the relaunch will have any effect on the collection of titles that will be getting renumbered and relaunched at #1?

DC has not been great about collections in the past (of their current ongoings) or at least they have been very inconsistant (Secret 6 good, Batgirl Bad, and so on) in their timing.

I wonder if they will keep bothering to finish the trade collections of titles that are either getting renumbered to #1, or are going away completely...

we'll see when the preview of solicits comes..

I was wondering, while the digital initiative might / will see higher sales for monthly tirked, if it will effect sale for trades?

I really do hope we get some of what that would have been.  I know parts of it were used for All-Star Super man.

So much wasted potential in that pitch.

I can't get over ow much DC has made a win with this. I hardly ever buy any DC books. Xombi was the only thing I had ever had on my pull list from them.

September I am not buying a single marvel book, I am going to grab a heap of these new books.

My list will be

Batwoman
Red Hood and The Outlaws
Swamp Thing
Animal Man
Resurrection Man
Voodoo
Static Shock
Stormwatch
Sgt. Rock and the Men of War
All-Star Western
Grifter

Grifter and Voodoo it is the characters I am following in on, for they are books I used to dig back in my teens and it will be cool to see how they are used. I never heard of any of the guys on Grifter.

The rest are either due to the creators, or it just looks cool to me.

Static shock doesn't really look like it will appeal to me but I will follow Rozum due to Xombi.

I am pretty excited for this, I don't know jack about any DC characters really, some of the titles I listed I have never heard of the character. But its come at a great time for me, I have been pretty bored lately with most things on offer.

I wouldn't mind jumping onto a big character book too, like Superman, Batman, Batgirl etc. I was leaning towards Snyder and CAPLLUO!!! batman. Anyone recommend anything?

Oh and the Suicide Squad cover, is that from the artist doing the internal of the book? If so its added!

No, the interior artist is listed as Marco Rudy. He did The Shield (Red Circle) book and he's got chops.

You have to get Batman by those two. Snyder's run on Detective has been fantastic.

The other big books that have teams I am really excited about are
Wonder Woman
Aquaman
Firestorm
JLI
Action
JL (I am very intrigued on Johns and Lee together )
Batgirl

I will buy a lot of the main hero books, but I am way more excited for the new series I have never read before.

Some interesting items.

The first story arc of Justice League takes place in the past and is the new origin of the team. The second arc will jump ahead to current time. I wouldn't be surprised if Morrison's first issue of Action takes place over a few years as well.

George Perez stated that he is doing layouts for Superman with Jesus Merino as finisher. That is awesome. Jesus Merino is a great artist on his own but used to be Carlos Pacheco's inker. And to be honest, Carlos Pacheco's art hasn't looked the same since Merino went on his own.

Thanks for the read Travis.

I have to agree.  My son is very excited about the reboot.  It is causing a lot of conversation at my LCS but the thoughts of a younger reader seem to have more weight on this subject because they are the future audience.

Like all comics readers I am nervous but hopeful.  (and never a hater ).

 Cheesy

My oldest daughter is 10 years old, about the same age that I started to read comics on a regular basis. She reads a few monthly titles today, but I might introduce her to main DCU with this reboot. BTW, her Batgirl is already Barbara Gordon because of the Batman cartoon.

Another interesting note, both of my daughters always felt that the old Wonder Woman costume was "inappropriate" for a hero. "Daddy, why is wearing a swimming suit to fight bad guys?"

Confirmation that the first story in Action takes place in the past. Also the time passage between the formation of the JL and the present is five years.

A whole arc? Old habits. Would have been awesome for them to do it old school and have it done and out of the way in an issue so they could move on to other things.

If they're going to treat it as something to get out of the way, there's no point in doing it at all. If they have a story that's worth an arc to tell, why not take that long to tell it?

recently i felt you could drop 1 or 2 issue from any comic arc and the story would be better. i hope that they do that. "normally this would be 6 issue lets make it four. "

A story arc is not necessarily 6 issues... It could be 3 or even 2.  We are just used to 6.  Give it a chance to be it's own thing.

They definitely shouldn't force the issue and stretch stories to fill trades. They should let the stories take their natural course and if they end up being 1 or 2 issues, great. If they end up at 6 and conveniently fill a single a trade, that's great too, as long as they're good. Smiley

Jim

That's true, I just hope they have enough story. A typical 6 month story is a long time to be spending in the past. It would have been different if they did a totally awesome origin with tons of story for a whole issue with a great hook. Interested to see how it turns out even though I'm not getting the title.

I really dont understand the concept of writing for the trade. If the arcs are shortened to 2-3 issues an arc instead of 6 why wouldn't they just package two arc together. Why does there only have to be one? Preacher, Fables and many more have usually one 4 issue arc and then a 2-3 issue one as well.
