It was actually a Milestone title not a Vertigo. It was amazing. It was the spiritual successor to Morrison's Doom Patrol.
It ran about 21 or so issues. The writer is the same so it has the same feel storywise, but the art was definitely different. It was colored in the Milestone fashion back in the day. I need to re read my issues, it's a book that I have very fond memories of...ah...the Dexterities...some of my favorite characters. i hope they show up in this series.

Ahh. Thanks for the info. I think I was confused because I used to see advertisements in my old Vertigo books. I think I'll be looking it up.

I loved the episode, guys.....'twas like hanging out with my comic buds, but not being able to say anything Cheesy

....but I wished at one point I had been able to interject, 'cause I was surprised to hear you question when Elektra was reanimated, and not recall that Frank Miller himself did the deed, in double-sized DD #190 just 9 issues after Bullseye ran her through with her own Si!

Remember the hand performing the ritual where they turn to dust and DD and Co. try to break it up, fail, and DD 'hears a heartbeat' and tries to revive her himself....later when the place is coming down and going up in flames, the big white ninja (korgi or kergi or somthin' - too lazy to look any of this up!) reveals that Murdock's attempt to reanimate her somehow cleans her soul, and when DD gets there the empty white ninja robes are on the ground, and Elektra's body is gone.....at the end, she climbs the peak (doesn't fall this time, right?) and Elektra stands at the summit in her white duds for the first time.

I forgot to mention, Elektra Lives! was reprinted as a softcover at some point, so the Omnibu isn't the first.

I was thinking the same thing cause that's how I remember it too.  I think it's Frank Miller who's remembering it wrong.

-I checked out Flashpoint on a whim. I don't buy the complaints of not knowing who everyone is. One you don't need to, two they say their names when talking to each other.

I reread the meet-n-greet portion of the issue today.  Yes, for the most part, everyone is named.  Blackout, Outsider, Element Woman, Piper, Cold, the Shazam! kids, etc.  Pretty much everyone except for the those kept Secret.  And I like it when people are named in conversations as long as it isn't ridiculous ("Hello, my friend and ally Fred Whatsisface, he with the power to transport matter, who is married to Joan") or you end up with everyone sounding like Volstagg or Aquaman.

I get that this is a 'new' reality.  Not everything is going to be laid out in the first issue.  I just would really like to not have something like Cyborg trapped in a corner, back against the wall facing his enemies and all of a sudden his skin grows spikes like Doomsday and everyone carries on like this is normal in this world.  Surprise, readers!!  He did indeed get out of the cockadoody car.  Aren't you happy?

We're seeing this world through Barry's eyes.  But Barry isn't privy to everything.  So they can take liberties and say "well, that's how it is in this world".  These characters may be lying to each other but we haven't known them long enough to feel one way or the other when someone gets stabbed in the back.  It's hard for me care about a character if I don't know the 'rules'.  I'll end up shrugging it off saying, "sucks to be you" and that may not be the desired reaction.

But someone else might think that's the greatest thing ever, so there you go.

That being said, I totally agree with DAP on the whole point of Editor's Notes.

Speaking of Frank Miller, it may have already been mentioned but Ifanboy did a great video show this week focusing on him. Worthwhile if you are one of the many (myself included) that at times claim he has fallen off. The amount of steller work that guy did in his 30 years in the field is staggering.

A Ronin, Sin City, and Wolverine reread will be happening this weekend for sure.

Volstagg or Aquaman.

OH SNAP! A cartoon with these two done by the Brave and Bold guys would be the greatest thing since ever!
