Great book. It almost made me want to try writing, even though he said it is really hard and I know I'm a horrible writer.
I really recommend the audio version. He reads it, and he has a great voice.
Yeah, that audiobook has got me through many long drives!

Maguire (not Tobey) is the shizzle for character art. While I've enjoyed his art for other companies, in my mind's eye, he's a consummate DC artist.

Agreed! Some people like a reader such as Garrison Keillor, but for me, I'll take a Stephen King read book any day of the week. The only person I might take over King reading his own work is the late Frank Muller. That man was the absolute BEST at reading a King story; anyone who's heard one of his audiobook readings knows what I'm talking about and if you haven't heard one, do yourself a solid and pick one up.

really nice job guys! indeed, legion of three worlds is a BIMONTHLY comic, something that i don't think was made very transparent by DC. so Lo3W won't finish until...april 2009. *suicide*
Really? Definitely a factoid that I hadn't glommed onto. Ah well, I'll wait for quality, especially if the publisher has the schedule made public prior to a series coming out. Now the waiting for the "last" issue of Planetary; that's some pain and suffering there...

Tang is awesome. I thank NASA every time I drink that stuff.
I remember doing the happy dance as a kid whenever Mom bought a can of Tang at the grocery store. Yum!

Handbooks are dead my friends....you have the internet...or me. For me, it's not so much the information the handbooks contained, but the art within. Especially where Who's Who is concerned. Seeing the various Superman entries, by Curt Swan and Wayne Boring; Green Lanterns Hal Jordan (by Gil Kane) and Guy Gardner (by Joe Staton), Dolphin by Dave Stevens... Unlike Marvel's Handbook which had a static image of a character (by an artist that had the closest connection to it such as John Romita Jr's Spider-Man in the first series, Ron Frenz in the Deluxe Edition, Mike Zeck's Captain America, etc.) and panels of the character in action throughout the entry, DC's Definitive Directory had the subject (which at times was in action) and images behind it - a location or moments from his or her history - making me think the art seemed to be the focus. Very few entries were more than one page (with many C- and D- list characters only getting half a page) so the information wasn't as vital. Besides, a crisis could be around the corner making the data moot. So yeah, for me, the joy was turning the page to see who was going to draw the Legion of Super-Heroes and Batman and Aquaman and Wonder Woman and everyone else.

Chris!
Jetix! Nice! I love watching that...I guess they're putting that Avengers cartoon on there now. Although, that Iron Man cartoon is cringe worthy at lots of points. The Incredible Hulk is pretty decent. Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends always grabs me. I can't not watch it.
Vince!
The Silver Surfer cartoon was fantastic! I would love it if Jetix would bring that back--truthfully, I'm a little surprised that they haven't already. So, here's hoping.
Karma for the both of yas!

HAHAHA! A David Icke reference! God do I love hearing that man talk--he's so crazy. So many reptilians, so little time. More karma to you, Vince! ...also, on the ASBM recall, it is silly and maybe you guys are right in that it's a little suspect. But! I can totally see how something like that could happen on accident. If, for some reason, the letterer felt it was necessary to put all those words in there, before blocking them out, I can see how he could make a mistake and not black them out all the way. If he used a rich black for the letters, and a flat black for the censor-boxes on accident, that would be a relatively easy mistake to make and just subtle enough to not catch it right away. I'm not saying that's exactly what happened, but it's a reasonable explanation for how it could have happened and still have been an accident. Speaking of Miller's Batman...even more karma to you, Vince, for loving Dark Knight Strikes Again. I am honestly baffled by all of the hate that book gets sometimes.
