Here's some of Koi Pham's work from the Chaos War proper....really nice stuff from him here:

...and I'm not screwing around on this Chaos War: Chaos King thing.....an obviously inspired M.W.Kaluta!:

Definitely getting a more 'European' feel from Pham on those pages than I ever have before.

Winter Guard!

EDIT: Sorry, I meant to say Winter Guard was the Russian team Darkstar was in. After looking it up, she was apparently also a member of Soviet Super-Soldiers.

Okay, I've just finished with the episode. I haven't been listening to you guys since early this year when I cut back on my Marvel comics (and comics in general) but I figured, "screw it, I'm jumping back in." I've missed you guys Hearts

Good to hear about Chaos War because I wasn't paying attention to any of it when it was coming out. As for Venom, I read the .1 issue as well as the first issue but that's about it so it was nice to catch up.

I sure did like Chaos War more than I like what's going on right now it Fear Itself.  The concepts were much bigger (god pantheons toppling like dominoes!) and the DEAD coming back to life?! I'm having a hard time understanding why this didn't get more attention, especially given that Alpha got another new series out of it.

Does anyone know why Marrina is acting like such a Wolverine these days though? (see Alpha Flight: Fear Itself #1 for the latest version of her under Van Lente's pen.)

Boogie Loved that intro Steve. Still haven't read Chaos War so I skipped a few minutes there but now I'm more in the know about what tie-ins to buy. I think I'll be getting even less than Shadowland. Those look like some of the best Khoi Pham pages I've seen. Looking forward to getting that. Raker makes fun of some Avengers what's with that?  Wink Too bad it wasn't the fun written Genis. Deathcry gets no respect. I always found it weird Vision would be in that series.

The David Venom segment was awesome Rock Horns He always brings it back for me. I  Hearts picking up back issues from that era of "Where is Spider-Man?"

Jack O'Lantern's one of my favourite B-level Spider-Man villains. Always had plenty of respect for the guy. I remember McNiven not getting the guy when he was talking about Civil War at a convention. To me he's always been cool. I guess I liked the visual like Ghost Rider should be a bit scary like a flaming skull on fire Jack is a flaming pumpkin on fire but it less so. Issue #1 had it's moments but I've certainly been getting more comfortable with it. I haven't read Grim Hunt yet either so I wasn't sure if that's really you know who yet. It makes me look negatively on the arc right now but I'll wait until I get to it. Venom has so many cool moves in here too. Crazy little personality things that I haven't seen before. I remember being really into Venom back in the day and buying some of those mini's but this is turning out to be the best of them. I guess that's not that hard but this is a solid concept.

I'm waiting on the collection for Venom's first arc, and going monthly with the second....I've had it with waiting for collections of new ongoing series that I know I want to read

Roll On Floor Laughing I remember you saying you were waiting for the nice collection since you knew you wanted it. I hope I played a tiny part in that.

Boogie Loved that intro Steve.
Finally! Cool
Those look like some of the best Khoi Pham pages I've seen.

Yeah, really good....the best work I've seen from him.  He was a really friendly, happy nice guy when I met him in Boston at the end of April, too, so I'm happy to be able to give him some deserved hype.
Raker makes fun of some Avengers what's with that?

It coulda been worse: I neglected to add a snarky comment when mentioning that Grummet's art was pretty to look at....something to the effect of 'or at least as pretty as Dr Druid gets'...but spaced on doing so....
Deathcry gets no respect.

I actualy am fond of the Harras/Epting/Palmer era Embarrassed
I always found it weird Vision would be in that series.
Good call....the characters spent a few panels pondering and explaining that Thumbs Up

I think he was at a con I went to at the beginning of April as well but I never stopped to check out his stuff. I think he had pages with him too.

That totally makes sense. I've only read a couple issues. It looks to me like the law of diminishing returns would set in with that run. I think I have most if not all the run in issues now. Part of my big Avengers gathering project...the title not just the...you know....

Another outstanding episode to make my day.  Glad you enjoyed the Chaos War.  I have two of the side trades on reserve at the library.

Tom Fowler is on Venom.  How am I just hearing about that now?  I will have to get myself to the LCS and grab those issues (or the trade).

You always learn at Marvel Noise.  Keep up the superlative work.  Keep making mine Marvel Noise.

Steve, I'm glad we're on the same page here. Chaos War's main story and Avengers tie-ins were so very lackluster. I doubt you'll be surprised, but Hulk: Chaos War was the only part I really enjoyed. The story was totally irrelevant to the main event, but it was very well-written, especially for those familiar with Hulk history, and the artwork was phenomenal.

Darkstar was indeed part of the Soviet Super Soliders, which is no longer PC, so we now have the Winter Guard. I highly recommend reading Darkstar and the Winter Guard by David Gallaher and Steve Ellis, especially for you ROM fans!

Great episode guys! Felt very intimate.

The Chaos War Hulk stuff was great, and Steve you really sold me on not buying a whole lot more  Cheesy

David, loved the Venom stuff! I have issue #1,3 and 4 as my LCS sold out of 2. But I could stull follow the story and loved it. The art has been fantastic.

Really loving the show lately David. Maybe I should record a Moon Knight segment for you  Tongue
