It's very discouraging when you've been washing dozens upon dozens of dishes, and you're FINALLY nearing the end, and then your girlfriend starts producing a seemingly endless supply of coffee mugs from around the house, and tossing them into your once empty sink. Good god, YES! That drives me frikkin' bats!

Same here and on a washing related theme, my wife washed my mobile phone- gah (not that I mind buying a new phone, just I hate the shops- all hair gel, slick suits and the least subtle hard sell in the world)

George Kell, Detroit Tiger's Hall of Fame third baseman and Tigers Baseball TV host for years has died. I loved watching him and Ernie Harwall call games. Another little bit of my childhood is gone.

I feel very weird that I still involuntarily ask the question of how Wolverine is in Messiah War while New Avengers is going on.
It's the VALIANT fan in me.
1993- When the idea of an awesome comic 'Universe' died.

Four stupid thoughts that is lodged in my mind: 1) The end of NEW Krypton: Luthor turns the sun red.
2) The Robin in Batman and Robin: Batman (Bruce Wayne).
3) The third thought crawled back into my subconscious, and currently(when typing) my conscious can't produce it again. Stupid thought.
4) Why does C-3PO lie to Luke in STAR WARS about not being able to tell stories 'not very interesting anyway.', and then in JEDI telling the whole story to the Ewoks, with sound effects and all? Oh, don't get me started about the Luke/Leia discussion on the Ewoks bridge. 'Do you remember your real mother?', didn't she die in childbirth...

It just hit me: Elizabeth Hasslebeck would be so much hotter if she didn't talk. Nothing to do with her conservative views, it's just the stupid things she says that ruin it for me.
oh and: how the hell do you pronounce Vince's last name?

I was doing some weeding/planting over the weekend while my daughter napped and my wife was gone. I didn't use the iPod because I was listening for any noise over the baby monitor. I was a little freaked out just being with my thoughts and nothing else. It actually felt uncomfortable for the first 30 minutes. Then I was overwhelmed by thinking about how much stimulation (desired or not) we are constantly barraged with. On the 2nd day when my wife was around to monitor our daughter, I chose not to get my iPod. After 2 days of doing "manly" work and experiencing my internal monologue again, I felt completely at peace, but also a little perturbed about what it means for our society that no one ever really has to "be here now" with themselves anymore. The fringe benefit: when I went to pick up some take-out for dinner and finally decided to listen to music (Wilco - Sky Blue Sky) it sounded DAMN sweet! I recommend unplugging for a day or two. It's an enema for the soul.

Is there some conspiracy between Internet/computer companies and the major paper suppliers? Why is that any time I need to print a web page for my wife (who is 'old school' and wants hard copies of things) that there's always an extra page with just the time stamp and address? That's always pissed me off. I call 'foul!'

MLB info (if anyone is interested)TOday they honor Jackie Robinson. I believe players from all or most teams will be wearing Jackie's number in tribute. Props to Mr. Robinson for cultivating and changing history.

I don't watch Christian snuff films, so I can't comment on the latter, but City of God was kick-ass! That's the Brazilian movie, right?

Yes. The same director made The Constant Gardener, which was also very good. Based on those two films, I wanted to see Blindness when it came out last year, but I was at least temporarily talked out of it by its lousy critical and popular reaction. Anybody on here seen it?
