Flip Flops should only be worn in the same way that slippers are worn. The doorbell rings and I gotta run downstairs to pick up a package. In stead of putting on shoes I can just throw on flip flops. That and going to the beach. The same can be said for Crocs. It's basically swimwear. Do you walk around in a bathing suit?  Man, if I'd seen this before we taped (Paperkeg West, check it out) there would have been words! |

I have to agree about All-Star Western being great. I have trouble hard-ranking my books, but I'll easily put it in the top ten of the new 52, and tentatively put it in my top five. I was expecting to hate this book since I'm not a fan of western stories. I'm only familiar with Dr. Arkham from the video game Batman Arkham Asylum, but I'm curious to see if the character from this story evolves into the character hinted at in the video game. Regarding the strip club in Voodoo - I think the writer has been in his share of clubs (I can imagine him telling his wife he's only going back 'for research'  ), but I don't think the artist has ever been in a real club -- I can't imagine trying to see my hand in front of my face, let alone the dancers, while wearing sunglasses. That nudged me out of the story, and the dialog with Voodoo in the VIP was so forced it pushed me the rest of they way out. Even when she showed her true colors I felt no real impact because of how bad the lead up to it was. I was more engaged by the female agent's actions outside the club. I've found all of the shoe-horned Wildstorm characters and settings to be dull and uninspiring. It makes me wonder if the creators feel a bit maligned that they've been saddled with non-DC characters or something. |

Glad to hear that I wasn't the only one entirely underwhelmed by Aquaman. I wanted to like that book so much...
On the other hand, All-Star Western was lights out. Easily one of the two best books of the 52
