I really like the look of the trailer however to me the trailers makes the film feel like an Iron Man film with the other heroes having a role.

I'm glad that they didn't include whatever scene it is where someone, hopefully Cap, shouts "Avengers Assemble".  That is something that I want to experience on the big screen for the first time.

I can't wait to see more of the Hulk and Hawkeye.  A good looking trailer that has me even more excited for the movie.

it does a bit, but i guess it makes sense to highlight the hero whos been there biggest success on screen and the most bankable star in the movie, even if this is a reflection of the movie as a whole it wont necessarily be a bad thing it'll just be one way of doing it

I'm looking forward to the movie but surprisingly the trailer did not raise my anticipation to the next level.  I'm not sure if that is because of my taste or because of the trailer's chosen clips.   Thinking

I would wager that the film will show Cap's role progressing to that of team leader.
Showcasing RDJ for the first trailer definitely makes sense from a studio perspective, though.
And I agree that the inevitable "Avengers Assemble!!" moment should be left out of the trailers (even though/and especially because I'm dying to see it!)

Would've liked to have seen some shots of hot ass Maria Hill. Or maybe she was there and I missed it? Up until the last few seconds of the trailer I was thinking "this trailer needs more Hulk" so it was good to see him in it in some form. I hope Hawkeye gets to shine like he does in the Avengers cartoon.

Same here. It wasn't bad though, I just wasn't fist pumping or anything. I'm gonna try real hard to avoid any more trailers so I can be surprised when I watch it next year.

Yeah. I don't know. The dialogue sounded a bit off.

I think the trailer was probably rushed out for NYCC and that's fine with me, using Cap as an example, the first trailers for these movies aren't ever a good barometer for how good it may be.

That being said I still think it looks awesome, so I can't wait to see what they show us next.

How Do The Avengers Fit Into The Whedonverse?
http://www.empireonline.com/features/the-avengers-whedonverse

Interesting article... Honestly it is just as important to look at his comics work on Astonishing X-Men. Out of all the "celebrities trying to do comics" his stuff is some of the most succesful. With Kevin Smith is the closest but talk about his comics being a mixed bag. Everyone else from Rob Zombie to Jennifer Love Hewwits "Music Box" (bet I'm the only person who read that #1 issue) are impossible to judge on this scale because they all did very much their own thing, rather than say an "avengers story".

Still Whedon OBVIOSLY read Grant Morrison, actually figured what worked from that run (the human moments) and did his own interpretation that is extremely close in quality (which one is better depends on which one I re-read more recently).

Anyway Whedon is credited on the screenplay and based on his recent output I have a lot of faith.

* I realized later that Paul Dini is in this category, animated forever and then did some comics which are really great.

Agreed. I wish he had time to do some comics stuff again. I read an interview where he said he'd love to have a crack at Fantastic Four. I'd read that in a heartbeat.
