Saw it today and LOVED IT !!!!!! Exactly what it needed to be.
And I knew the end credit baddie from the dialogue just seconds before the reveal. I almost screamed the name right there. I can't wait for the next one.

Me too, I knew what was coming but I was still grinning ear to ear during the reveal. THAT'S MY GUY!

Couldn't agree more.  He was the PERFECT director for this movie.  Hope he sticks around, has it been announced if he is going to direct the next one?  The box office will probably confirm that.

Not a confirmation but he says he had a ton of fun and wants to do more.

Minor spoiler about something cameo related about a non essential character that has no bearing on the plot whatsoever...

Favs is too big to appear in the movie now? Would've liked to have seen Happy.

Yeah I'm not sure what went into the decision for us to get it a week before you guys. Spidey, Batman and a few other big movies are within the same week though. I'm bummed that we're getting G.I. Joe 2 a month after you guys Sad

We went out to dinner tonight with a friend who was at this past Thursday's screening for the Marvel bullpen in New York and I literally had to smack him a few times to stop the spoiling.

Saw it last night, and for my money, it's the best comic book film I've ever seen!

I don't know whatim more excited for, this film, or the possibility of Hickman taking over the core Avengers title!

(I like a lot of Bendis stuff, I've just never really dug his Avengers work--other than Avengers Prime, which just made his other Avengers work much more frustrating for me because he proved that he CAN write a more classic style Avengers tale that I prefer)

Any hoot, great to see all the love this movie is getting! Really does sound like the first classic-style superhero "event" team up ever put to film! Between this and TDR, we should be getting a great mix of grim and gritty and fun superhero stories at the cinema!

I know Spidey 3 isn't that great but I really loved the team up aspect near the end and ever since getting a taste of it there, I've been wanting to see a full blown Marvel Team-Up movie. The've done it with the Avengers, it's like Marvel Team-Up come to life!

My 17 year old son and I have our Thursday night Midnight tickets in hand...soooo looking forward to this movie!  From all the reviews I've read, it sounds like "In Joss We Trust" should be the ongoing mantra for Marvel team movies.   Not Worthy

I'm still excited to see the movie, and sure I will like it... but I just realized I'm really tired of the word Avengers.  This has more to do with Marvel publishing than with the actual movie.

I understand. But for most people, The Avengers actually seems fairly new (particularly for younger viewers)
And Im actually of the mentality that The Avengers (comics) could suddenly become VERY interesting if marvel handles the franchise well post-bendis (Hickman please?? With strong, stable art!!)

I'm with you on all counts!  I'm excited for a fresh new take on the Avengers, doubley so if that take is Hickman's, and even more so if the art is fresh (which I'm doubtful of, but still hopeful for).

I think it was mentioned earlier that there's no after credits scene. I didn't see one after the credits rolled but I think there is gonna be one for the US release so you guys might wanna stay back for that.

Check out this link if you've already seen the movie.
http://www.slashfilm.com/extra-scene-shot-the-avengers-finally-revealed/

And here's an Easter egg going back to one of the earlier Marvel movies (don't click if you haven't seen the movie).
