I like the show, I enjoy it without trying to be too much of a critic about it, bit c'mon. That whole sequence made no sense.

Pros: Michael Raymond-James We didn't see T-Dog drop any bodies moving them to the truck. Maggie.
Cons: Michael Raymond-James Dale seeming to really hammer the point home about his feelings for Shane. Not enough Daryl. Are they really that dense that they don't check the woman for scratches? But then again, this is a group containing fools that chopped up a walker - messily, I might add - without protection.

so rick and glen leave, and the catatonic chic takes a turn for the worse. everybody's panicking. lori goes to daryl and asks him to go to town to look for rick and glen, and look for the doc. i have NO IDEA in hell what she thought this would accomplish. rick and glen already know how important it is to find herschel. sending daryl will accomplish nothing but needlessly endanger an important member of the group. and lori going off, by herself? i bet she doesn't tell anybody. and we'll spend more episodes with characters shouting for "lori"! with our luck she'll be the next "sophia" mcguffin. its like jericho all over again where they manufacture conflicts or crises. i thought WD was better than that. (sorry. just so disappointed. there WERE some good parts and it was a decent episode, but that lori thing just bothered me.) -mike

I figure that when Rick and Glen left that the catatonic chick is in shock. After Rick leaves, her heart rate rises and she takes a turn for the worse. Maybe by Lori asking Daryl to go and find Rick she was hoping that he could tell them that catatonic chick had taken a turn for the worse and that the situation was more dire, lighting a fire under Herschel and crew to get back. Why Lori left on her own? I don't know. It was a totally stupid move that I hope plays out better than the gang just looking for her for a few episodes.
When Rick and Skinny from Philly are staring at each other in the bar. The tension was awesome. When he tells Rick that he's sure he's had to do things to survive and Rick just coldly stares at him letting him know "I'm your Huckleberry". I loved that scene.
I really liked this episode. There was a lot of character development going on here. We see Carl slipping just a little more into the child he is going to have to become to survive in this world. And we get Lori beginning to recognize that and warning Rick about it. We got T-Dogg, Shane, and Andrea segregating from the group even more. Herschel? OMG that was a great scene between him and Rick in the bar. We get a little more of Maggie and Glen's budding relationship and Daryl struggling with who he was and the man that he is becoming in this new world.
Still excited and digging the show.

Yeh, it's like sending someone to the shop to get ice cream, then sending someone else after them, to tell them we want ice cream. One thing I liked from that episode was the Dale and Shane conflict. its like jericho all over again where they manufacture conflicts or crises. i thought WD was better than that.

This show is actually making me enjoy the comic book less. The only cool part was the very end, which was pretty dope. But does 5 mins offset 35ish? Dunno.

The only cool part was the very end, which was pretty dope. But does 5 mins offset 35ish? Dunno. Similar reaction. In my head I try not to compare it to the comic and i think I am fine with it being different. It's just in it's own right, the story moves so slowly and there is so much wasted screen time. There are very few charaters that I find interesting in the show and I find that there is a lot of repetition in what these characters say and do (I was rollign my eyes through Hershal's longwinded speech). On the plus side, I think the last 5-10 minutes were great. I liked how Hershall quietly got on board with Rick during the conversation. That was done very well. And Maggie.........sigh. Average show but still intend to watch weekly.

Guys, I gotta say that the fact that my wife says "that was a really fun episode" after every episode of Walking Dead goes a fucking mile in terms of me liking it. A show that we can actually watch together that doesn't start with "The Real Housewives of _______". Sign me UP>

It's a slow starter. They actually cut a lot of acoustic guitar from the beginning.

The last five minutes are what makes this such a frustrating show for me. Because that was legitimately awesome and contrasted sharply with the rest of the episode, which wasn't so good. If the writers could just bring the A-Game they've shown in isolated scenes like that, and learn how to write female characters, it could be really good.
Also, is it just me, or do Shane's tits get bigger every episode? Brother has some C cups going on.

Maybe by Lori asking Daryl to go and find Rick she was hoping that he could tell them that catatonic chick had taken a turn for the worse and that the situation was more dire, lighting a fire under Herschel and crew to get back. I think that's exactly what she was thinking. The situation had changed. It was foolish for her to leave on her own but I didn't have any trouble understanding it. She's pregnant, she was probably feeling helpless, feeling the urgency of the situation, feeling anxious about Rick, ... people don't always behave rationally even in real life and these characters are under a tremendous amount of stress. I think she just felt the need to act, to do something other than wait. When Rick and Skinny from Philly are staring at each other in the bar. The tension was awesome. When he tells Rick that he's sure he's had to do things to survive and Rick just coldly stares at him letting him know "I'm your Huckleberry". I loved that scene. I did too. The end of the episode was excellent and I really liked the way it started too, with the cast facing the aftermath of the mid-season finale. The show had to deal with that I thought it did so in compelling fashion. I really liked this episode. There was a lot of character development going on here. We see Carl slipping just a little more into the child he is going to have to become to survive in this world. And we get Lori beginning to recognize that and warning Rick about it.
