Yesterday was the last day of double points at the Lego store so I went a little nutty.

I bought:

http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Fire-Brigade-10197  AND  http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Grand-Emporium-10211

My Daughter and I are gonna build them together.  She is in complete shock that they are in our house and it's killing her that they are still in the package 24 hours later.

The funny thing is I thought my Wife would shoot me the "Are you fucking crazy" look for buying them, she actually bought one of the Christmas sets for her and my Daughter to build.   Roll On Floor Laughing

That's AWESOME Tim!

The "go to" sets for this Xmas in our house appear to be:

http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Sith-Nightspeeder-7957

Ironic coincidence is I just worked a lunch shift today and as I was going to pick up my little one from after school a neighbor called me up and asked if my Daughter could join hers in a trip to the LEGO store right now for the free November "build a set"... it's a Turkey.  Smiley

My favourite set is my avatar. I lurv my Millenium Falcon. I can barely lift the thing its so huge (or awkward). I have to try to figure out what my next set will be, or if I just want to try to build something myself.

I just got back from the mall with my kid... LEGO BLACK FRIDAY UPDATE!!!!

If you buy something at the Lego store today, they give you a peel off/scratch off card that will give yo 10%, 20% or 50% off your purchase.

We nailed the 20%.  Combine that with our $15 in Lego VIP points and we bought a $60 Christmas Bakery set for $33.  Woot!

Mother-In-Law just informed us she scored the death star. which will basically means she trumped the rest of the family in the boys eyes this Christmas. I can not wait to witness the madness when they open it.

I wish I knew about the mini-fig packages a while ago cause some of the previous sets had soem fun figures in it.

Are you talking about the mystery mini fig packs?  You can usually find some of the older packs at Walmart and toysrus.

We are big into Lego at our house too -- starting with the stuff I had as a kid and up to new stuff that seems to be nearly constantly purchased. My son gets as much of a kick out of the minifigs as he does out of whole sets, and makes his own adventures.

The new Lego Ninjago stuff, including the new currently running TV series is also spurring on some love for new sets, as will the upcoming superhero sets.

Sorry man.

I'm surprised though... You're telling me your boys actually wait to rip it open?  It's part of my Daughter's morning ritual.  It is the driving force/reward that makes sure she finishes all her morning responsibilities.  Once she finishes... get the hell out the way because she is bee-lining.

I assume your boys would be doing the Star Wars Advent calendar instead.

Ha! No, they open them in the morning, I just don't find out what they got until I got home.

And when you have multiple little LEGO nuts, you have BOTH the Star Wars and the City Advent calendars. Smiley

I think this is what my wife mentioned but I am on the road right now (which is terrible because I missed Hartford). I wont even see what we got until I get home.

Today's Advent item was a disappointment...

It was a table and mug.  Meh.

My Daughter announced, "what a rip off!".  That made me laugh out loud.

Today's Lego City advent calendar piece was a real surprise...

SERIAL KILLER!!!!!  (Obviously he's a serial killer.  He hides his face with a hood and glasses whil he walks around carrying an axe!  Yikes!)

Between DC LEGO, Marvel LEGO, and now LOTR and Hobbit LEGO. I should look into a second job.
