Random- Samurai X is mine.
Now if I can dominate my children and retire Sensei Wu. (Okay well really they don't play the game much, although they talk about it, but I thought her costume was sweet.)
All in all the fig is nice, the boys just picked up Fangpyre Wrecking Ball, after finishing the death Star from Xmas.
Looking forward to Series 6 and backtracking on a few single minifigs the boys and I want.

SPOILER!!!  Nya is Samurai X?  Next you'll tell me who the green ninja is  Tongue

We picked up the Storm Fighter this week - my 4 year old wanted a snake warrior.

I have tried to get junoir ro play the Spinjitsu game, but he has no interest.

We just finished a pyramid made of 4X2 standard bricks for the snakes.  The base of the pyramid is almost as big as 2 large grey baseplates. If I could remember how to post picks, I would post.

I never said it was Nya  No Tongue

But if not "He" has lovely eye.

Funny the boys still mill over who the green ninja will be.

The whole Ninjago corner of Legos is something I know nothing about...

...but if you want to talk about the Lego Friends world I can talk all day long.  Olivia's favorite hobbies are Math and Science while Andrea loves music and performing for her Friends.  Wink

What's funny to me is how many of the "new" Legos are basically old Legos.

Looking through the Star Wars Lego encyclopedia, it's amazing how similar the new sets are to sets that were released almost a decade ago. Some of the finishing pieces are more sculpted, and the minifigs have lots more detail, but that's about it.

Same for the Superhero line. While the Marvel stuff will be greenfield, the first salvo of sets is very similar to the Batman Lego line that came out years ago.

Even Ninjago is a rehash. LEGO put out Ninja and Samurai legos back in the 2000 time frame.

Dude!  No lie I was going through my inventory of "collectables" that I own (and have forgotten about)and discovered that I have a couple of MIB Lego Star Wars sets from the original SW Lego license.  It was very similiar to what what was on the shelves today just repackaged.   Yes

Yup. I know my cousin who collected a bunch of the original SW Lego stuff pointed this out a while ago. I figured it was because aside from the new trilogy stuff you only have so much to work with with the original movie. BUt I do def see the point. I just hope they raise the bar a bit with LOTR and Hobbit because since that is what is taking over for castle I know my boys like the castle stuff. (Me too since that was basically what I remember liking the most when I was a kid)

Admittedly the boys are not THAT picky- Star Wars, Ninjago, Atlantis, Castle, some prince of persia (mostly for the weapons I think) etc. oh and both like bionicle (hero factory).

Yeah - the rehash almost works in my favour.  I've got 2 boys 11 years apart, so we mix the old with the new (Star Wars, Space, Ninja).  The biggest challenge is resurrecting the old sets from the bottom of the Lego bins.

But Lego sure has gotten into the art of remixes of previously releases sets.  Batman is the most obvious example.

Looking forward to LOTR - even been buying up the clearance priced Castle sets to go with them once they are released.

Gave my kiddo's a few series 6 minifigure single 'grab bags', and we scored 3 new ones out of the 4, including the Minotaur and much hoped for Statue of Liberty!

Oh man the mini figs...my boys have managed to collect (with a lot of help from a dad who works third shift and can be at wally world at 7 am) all of series 5 and 6. I have become pretty good at feeling which figure is in the package. Awesome and sad at the same time. However now they are like, "I wish we had the other sets too!" of course this at this point would cost an arm and a leg. Although I do wish I had a few from some of the older set. :::cough cough::: elves :::cough cough:::

I feel like those monster Legos are going to get lost in the shuffle this year with the Marvel and Lord of the Rings joining the Star Wars sets.

I think you are right Wood, but I think because they are sort of using iconic monsters they should grab a couple of people. But I do think the big dog this year will be LOTR as it is taking over for Castle which has a substantial fan base on it's own. I am honestly only interested in the superheros for the figs (meaning me and my kids) as they would rather build castle and mostly star wars. Although if they pulled off a Death Star sized Helicarrier I think my boys would lose their minds, and I would lose a mortgage trying to afford it.

The boys were baffled last night when I told them I was going to buy all the Marvel legos and assemble them, put them in the comic room, and not let them touch them.

But I told them if it's any consolation, I have no interest in the DC heroes or the Star Wars -- they can have them. Smiley

I have, for years, successfully avoided the temptation to buy Legos every time I walk down the toy aisle. There's no way I keep that up with these new LoTR sets.

I honestly luck out in that they actually have shelves set up for display of minifigs and have spots chosen for them.  One shelf is temp display and stuff changes and can be removed on is perm and figs done get touched, (unless my wife sees the dust LOL)

Nice! I always use the kids as justification for buying Marvel Legends and Marvel Universe figures (and now Legos), so I'm resigned to letting the kids have at them.

So we were at the mall last night and made the traditional stop at our Lego store.  After shooting the breeze with the employees I learned that the theme for the April and May LEGO Club meetings will be Marvel then DC.

The October theme (of course) will be their new Monster sets. I was told that they are not gonna be rolling those sets out til September.

That is cool!  Wish I lived closer to one.

Marvel and LOTR and DC = second job.

My 5 yr old is getting the Solar Sailor, Droid Escape and Palpatine's Shuttle.  His party will be Lego/Star Wars themed.

Picked up the Wolverine Copter battle and Captain America and his motorcycle.
Deadpool is one of the coolest mini-figs.
