Talk about a book that fits the mold of 'spinning off of an event'.
They could have packaged the first two issues as a one-shot where Sin was involved and then kick off the series with the new Spirit of Vengeance, Mephisto, and Johnny.
But then we would have had people carrying on because that's just too many number ones.
And if they told Ghost Rider's tale along with other stories featuring characters that could have spun out of Fear Itself in an anthology? Shit, nobody would have bought that because, well, anthologies don't work.
The sad pat is that the Fear Itself banner probably hurt the book more than helped. It's not a terrible book at all and might have gotten more sales without the blasted banner. I actually am enjoying it for what it is. Sure Aaron had a fantastic run following Way and this is no way on par with that. But it still is about as interesting of a GR story you can get without rehashing the same things over and over.
