Got all of the books (above) today and man... they are beautiful.

For those that are interested, the Legion of Super-Heroes: The Curse also includes back-up stories that were drawn by George Tuska, Pat Broderick (Yay!!) and Gene Colan (yes, Gene Colan drawing a Legion story featuring Wildfire and Dawnstar... it sorta boggles the mind) and Legion Annual #2 was drawn entirely by Dave Gibbons.  In addition, starting with Legion #307 and the start of the Omen and Prophet story, you start to see Giffen doing some very experimental stuff (at the time) in regards to his page layouts and a somewhat different look for the characters.

The Firestorm collection is really awesome and it's terrific to see one of my favorite things that Al Milgrom do get collected like this (I tend to think that Milgrom's penciling work sorta gets lost in the big history of comics and it's a shame, he really was terrific) and as I said above, I didn't even know that Firestorm #6 had even existed and though it's presented in this book in black and white, it's still great to see it.

The Steve Ditko Omnibus Vol. 1 is a real treasure trove.  All totaled, there's 49 stories in this thing from Ditko and one additional cover that he did for House of Mystery.  It's absolutely terrific to see the ninth issue of Shade the Changing Man, complete with it's Odd Man back-up (the way it originally saw print, though it is also in black and white - the Odd Man story eventually saw print in the pages of Detective Comics and in color, but I also think with some other editorial modifications- if memory serves, I believe that version will show up in Vol. 2).  If you're at all a Ditko fan, you'll really want to give this book a look, it's just absolutely fantastic!

I was committed to staying within the budget I set and ended up passing up on this - for half price - at the Wild Pig sale over the weekend. I've been regretting that move for three days now.

I got all three of these myself, I'm happy to say. Man, that Legion book is a tome! I'm loving the DC Deluxe Editions.

How were the actual Atari Force stories? I'm not a huge sci-fi comics guy, but I do love the old Micronauts series so perhaps I would dig this too?

I just reread the series about 6 months ago.

Its still awesome.

If you like Sci-FI even in just a pop-culture-y way (like you like Sci-Fi enough to like Star Wars but not enough to like Babalyon 5) Atari Forice is one of the best reads from that era.

Plus that JLG art is soooo pretty... meow Dart!

Well, hopefully you can still get it down the road... While I didn't get it at half price, it wasn't that far off the mark through Amazon anyway.  Still, it is a fantastic book and it's great reading these classic Shade stories again (and of course, now I can't wait for Vol. 2).

The Legion Curse HC was a must-have for me. The Legion, along with the New Teen Titans, was my favorite comic book when I was a kid. I did get the Firestorm trade and enjoyed it for what it was. I hope that DC will do a trade of the second Firestorm volume. The first 20 or so issues of that series was the best Firestorm stories ever published.
