Chris Campbell got the ball rolling this morning on Twitter, leading me to realize it's almost November.
We're planning on restructuring the format this time around, but I want to know who the creators are that will be topping your lists.
I figure this also gives us some time to pick up some things that came out earlier in the year that we forgot about and can still read before voting starts.

Joe Hill & Gabriel Rodriguez (Locke & Key FTW) Brian Clevinger & Scott Wegener (Atomic Robo) Craig Thompson (habibi is the most impressive ogn i've read in a while) Chris Samnee (cap & bucky is landmark) Warren Ellis (his work on Secret Avengers deserves accolades) Philip Gelatt & Tyler Crook (can't help it, i have a soft spot for espionage and rasputin) Scott Snyder (dude has yet to produce a dud)
EDIT: totally realized i missed Scott Snyder, that guy is batting 1000 as far as i'm concerned.

Probably lots more will to come to mind when i have a think about it but the work of Scott Snyder, Jeff Lemire, Rick Remender and Jason Aaron is what i look for when i get my stack of comics.
Also the art of Sean Murphy has been a highlight for me so far this year

Ray Fawkes was an early contender for One Soul but
Jaime Hernandez eclipsed him with his Love Bunglers in Love and Rockets
(both writer artists)

My pleasure. Now let's get this party STARTED! Where is the red carpet? The beautiful ladies??!! Ryan Seacrest! Okay, maybe we can live without the last one.
But in my humble opinion, this was without question the year of Jason Aaron and Scott Snyder.
Jason Aaron:
The man writes my favorite Vertigo title, Scalped, and writes the best Wolverine comic in 20 years.
On top of that, the new Hulk series felt like the true spiritual successor to "Planet Hulk" (sorry World War Hulk, World War Hulks, etc.).
And then the cherry on top of all of that is Wolverine and the X-Men #1: my favorite single X-Men issue I've read since early Whedon Astonishing X-Men.
This man has CHOPS.
Scott Snyder:
Favorite run on Detecive/Batman since ... ... the era of Starlin/Aparo "Ten Nights of the Beast"? In fact, there was a forum thread going [Sorry David, I'm not tecnologically inclined enough to link another forum thread, or I would] that goes over this very same ground.
Then throw in American Vampire, which is another genre completely, and equally awesome to his Batman stuff. I just started reading the first volume, and I'm hooked.
Finally. Swamp Thing. Putting All-Star Western aside, Snyder has my 2 favorite DC52 books.
Severed. Haven't read it, but hearing good things.
This youngster has CHOPS tambien.

I have to agree with many of the above and echo the names Scott Snyder, Jeff Lamire and Jason Aaron, but I have to add Mark Waid and his work on Daredevil.

Christopher Golden, Ben Stenbeck, Mike Mignola and Dave Stewart come to mind for the excellent work they've been doing on Baltimore.
Ian Churchill for Marineman
Quite a few of the usual suspects (for me): Jim Woodring, Rick Geary, Craig Thompson, Seth, Richard Corben...
I'm sure there are more! I must think...

All of these have been mentioned above, but for me this was the year of Joe Hill & Gabriel Rodriguez, Mike Mignola, Ian Churchill, Mike Carey, and Jason Aaron.

Gene Colan Tales of the Batman HC vol. 1 (reprinted this year who should win in my heart of hearts) Alan Moore Saga of the Swamp Thing HCs (backup choice reprinted this year in case there is a Nobel Prize no dead people can win O'Closers honors rule that I don't know about) Mark Waid (Daredevil) Ed Brubaker (Criminal The Last of the Innoocent) Bill Willingham, Mark Buckingham & Steve Leialoha (Fables as best book) Stan Sakai (Usagi Yojimbo) Val Staples & Dave Stewart (Criminal The Last of the Innoocent) Paul Cornell (Action Comics #904 -- the best ending of a volume of a series for me personally plus being a Doomsday story never hurts either) Katie Cook's Gronk for Webcomic
Note as a DCBS reader, I have largely only read one issue of the new DCU stuff so I want to be fair in my voting and my nominations reflect that. Maybe by early January after my December books are read I will add a few more DC creators to the list. Matthew

Ain't you the sweetest? I would admit it was a blatant Karma grab if it wasn't true. You sir, have done some fine work (with others) over this last year. You always keep me guessing. I only wish I could draw. Bean

So here is my list of creators that have been at the top of my list for the year. There were A LOT. So I'm sure I'll come back and edit this after I inevitably forget someone. I tried to limit to only creators who had brand new work come out in 2011.
Jess Fink Jim Woodring Michael Kupperman Ryan Browne Zander Cannon Johnny Ryan Guy Davis Craig Thompson Scott Snyder Tom Scioli Mike Norton Gabe Hardman Dan Clowes
